My grandchildren & I recently stayed at the Terrace Inn in Petoskey and had a wonderful time! I must admit that I was a little worried that they would not have enough to do but they loved their visit and want to return again next summer. My daughter and the kids had a Queen Whirlpool Suite with two rooms and a small kitchen area. The meals were great and of course, the kids loved the Ice Cream Parlor! We found lots to do...we took a short walk down to the beach and collected rocks the night of our arrival. The next day the kids spent the day at the beach. They especially enjoyed jumping off the dock and swimming to the raft. Another day they visited the shops in Petoskey and bought lunch and took it to the local park on the water. We would certainly return as we had a wonderful time. The Innkeepers and staff were very friendly and helpful! Next time we will bring our bikes as we heard there are great bike trails along the bay!

My husband and I spent some time in Petoskey over the 4th of July. One of the places that we stayed was Terrace Inn, a great inn back off the main drag of town, in a gorgeous little place called Bayview Association. We travel often and cleanliness matters a great deal to us. The Terrace Inn was one of the cleanest inns we have stayed in. I can almost always find something that could have been cleaned a touch more, not at the Terrace Inn! So were already happy. Imagine our surprise when one of the staff members heard us mention late in the evening that we needed something sweet (okay, needed in not the right word) and offered to go make us dessert. We later learned that this staff member was the owner, WOW, what a touch to an already great stay! The Cherry Crisp with ice cream was SO good that night!!! We will visit again.

My husband and I returned to the Terrace Inn after more than a decade. This was our first stay in the summer. The Inn is beautiful, and remodeling has resulted in the availability of some larger, very comfortable rooms. We were very happy to see the dining room open again and planked whitefish again on the menu. The staff was very helpful.
We wish we could have stayed longer than our one night and enjoyed strolls around the beautiful chautauqua of Bay View. This is a very nice, restful place to stay and in a prime location near Petosky and Harbor Springs.
We had a large king bed room on the first floor with large bathroom, jetted tub, lots of windows with nice wooded views. Get one of these rooms if you can--we received the upgrade without asking.
The dining room was very elegant and true to the history of the Inn. Continental breakfast was included, but pretty mediocre with cold french toast.
Note. The website reservation system for the Inn requires a 2 night minimum stay for some rooms, but when we called, this was waived.
