Description: The Terrace Inn and 1911 Restaurant is located in the Historic Association of Bay View, established in 1875. The Inn was built in 1910 and opened in 1911..and has been serving the public and Bay View residents continually since then. There are 37 rooms to choose from, and breakfast is included with your stay. Packages are available which include dinner, and the Inn hosts theme weekends throughout the year. The restaurant serves fresh, home cooked food, and uses local ingredients whenever possible. The rooms are available most of the year, except March when the Inn closes. Bay View cottages are open only May through October. Bay View is part music-campus..part small town..actually a village within the city limits of Petoskey, a quaint resort town built along the Little Traverse Bay. Lots to do year round..

“A step back in time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

My husband & I stayed at the Terrace Inn in August 2013. We loved the Inn and setting in Bay View, MI!! It was like taking a step back in time and reminded me of a visit to my grandparents' home. The staff was friendly and helpful. On Friday night, some relatives joined us for dinner at the 1911 Restaurant. We sat on the porch, overlooking the beautiful yard and town, with a view of the Little Traverse Bay in the distance. The food was gourmet and the selection amazing for a small restaurant. An added bonus... we learned that the Terrace Inn is open in the winter, so we will be returning to stay there on our ski vacations.

“Outstanding service, outstanding food! We'll be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

Nothing beats a beautiful, warm summer evening in Northern Michigan. The hotel is charming and well kept. The restaurant inside the hotel is called 1911. We were greeted by a lovely young lady and her handsome son. We were seated on the front porch which has a beautiful view of Lake Michigan's Little Traverse Bay and beautiful Victorian cottages close by. The cocktail's were very good and potent. :) We had artichoke dip for an appetizer which was great. The bread they served with our salads was superb. They had a nice selection of salads, I had the spinach salad. I especially liked the salad because it wasn't huge, it was just right and left you still hungry for the entree. I had Chicken Parmesan and it was outstanding. It was a big serving, enough to feed a hungry man. Our waiter was very attentive and offered good suggestions. They had some yummy sounding specials, crab legs, ribs and steak. The owner came by and greeted us which we thought was pretty cool. The people at the next table were Bay View summer residents and were very friendly. The wife turned out to be a State Representative from Illinois, we had a lovely conversation. It was a wonderful evening and we will be back soon. This establishment is just a couple of blocks of the beaten path so you don't see it on a drive through Bay View on the main road. You have to turn up into the lovely resort area and take a little driving tour. You won't regret making the turn.

“pizza night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

Sunday and Monday are pizza night they only serve pizza , salad and bread knots.
The dressing on the salad was very over powering way to much viniger. The bread knots came in a basket very very over baket, I as the server for others and she replaced them (mistake on the kitchen staff) they were to brunet to eat. Pizza we had the meat pizza and added onions the crust was good, good amount of sauce but the bacon on the pizza made it was to salty. we will give it another shot with the dressing on the side and no bacon....very clean restaurant and friendley staff..

“Terrace Inn And Restaurant, a slice of Petsoskey/Bayview Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

First of all, The hotel is over 100 years old, it is absolutely fantastic, dripping in old world charm and to die for antiques. The restaurant has the best chef, who will comply easily with any wish we had. When we arrived during the week, the restaurant was not open, but the Chef Zak opened it for us! He mentioned he had a fresh Parmesan encrusted white fish, which he prepared beautifully with whipped golden potatoes and a gorgeous salad. And then a Cherry crusted cobbler ala mode. Defiantly worth destroying any diet for! This is not a normal bread and breakfast, it has approximately 32 "haunted" rooms, which make it fun and just a little bit excited and curious when you wander through all of the rooms. Exciting to see the rooms each decorated and uniquely perfectly in old world ambiance. What a treat! Best of all we met some wonderful people, the staff friendly and more than courteous, the owner Mo a great guy. I want to go back this summer, and bring my girfriends that love the bewitching haunted feel of yesteryear charm! Seance, anyone?
Also hands off to the manger, ad thank you for the opportunity to sit in the beautiful porch and sip our wine (and eat those fantastic treats and breakfast breads from the ice-cream parlor.).
