Description: The Terrace Inn and 1911 Restaurant is located in the Historic Association of Bay View, established in 1875. The Inn was built in 1910 and opened in 1911..and has been serving the public and Bay View residents continually since then. There are 37 rooms to choose from, and breakfast is included with your stay. Packages are available which include dinner, and the Inn hosts theme weekends throughout the year. The restaurant serves fresh, home cooked food, and uses local ingredients whenever possible. The rooms are available most of the year, except March when the Inn closes. Bay View cottages are open only May through October. Bay View is part music-campus..part small town..actually a village within the city limits of Petoskey, a quaint resort town built along the Little Traverse Bay. Lots to do year round..

“Most recent visit a disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

My husband and I visited the Terrace Inn Restaurant last summer and absolutely loved the famed whitefish dinner. We returned with visiting family members and were very disappointed in the result. The chef has changed (moved to Stafford's restaurant in Petoskey) and the whitefish was bland and watery, and rather than having a whole filet, it was a smaller cut. We really wanted to share the delicious whitefish with our family, but it was a disappointment all around.

While our server was very attentive, the restaurant forgot our reservation and the chef was already closing down the kitchen when we arrived. They reopened for us, but it was a poor start to the evening.

There are better places to eat in and around the Petoskey area. If you're planning to go for the white fish, don't bother.

“Wonderful food, excellent service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2012

After having stayed at the Inn two years ago, we were anxious to again sample the Planked Whitefish. It was every bit as good this time as last. The raspberry vinaigrette salad dressing was outstanding and complemented the meal perfectly. We were also very pleased one night with the different pizzas offered our group. When in the Petoskey area, a stop at the Terrace Inn is a must!

“fine meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2012

Both my husband's Hemingway chicken and my parmesan crusted whitefish were excellent as was the chestnut soup. The waiter was helpful without being overbearing. The wine list was varied including some good Michigan wines.

great food and ambience, but if you choose lunch or dinner time then expect a wait, very popular but very good, great service too.

“Outstanding dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2011

Can't rave enough about the whitefish. Some of the best we have ever eaten (and we've eaten our share). We had the parmesian crusted, came with mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked green beans. yummmm The restaurant is located in the historic Terrace Inn in the Bayview district of Petoskey. Beautiful! We had great service and were lucky enough to meet the owner and get the history of the Inn. The only con is that we have to go home today and can't go back for dinner tonight. This was by far the best dinner we had during our long Thanksgivng weekend trip. Would absolutely return and recommend!
