“Clean with some good amenities”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2012

Clean campground with a friendly staff. Small sites with little room for recreation. Small pool, but clean. Ice cream, mini-takeout restaurant, and camp store were nice touches. I prefer the beauty and space of some of the state parks I've been to instead of the more modern amenities here. However, the cable tv on father's day weekend (US Open & NBA Finals!) was great.

This KOA is lovely. It is very well maintained and the staff was more then helpful. The only problems we had were: a dog prior to our visit had torn down the blinds the camper before and they had yet to replace them. After some coaching and reminding they did finally replace them around 8PM the next night. At first we had no warm water but that was soon fixed and we did have no heat our entire weekend but we never said anything so we can't fault them for it.

Room Tip: Pick a Kamping Lodge

Stayed here for 3 days last Labor Day 2011. Check-in was quick and easy by a friendly, helpful staff member. We were given a gate card, as the enterance and exit were gated. Was escorted to our site and they guided us into our site. We had a full hookup site. The grounds were well groomed and all the buildings were immaculate and clean. All of the staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. They made you feel welcome. The pool was clean and the clean snack bar had all sorts of goodies. Petoskey is a great town with lots to do. We have made reservations for a week in July of 2012.

We have been going to this KOA for the past six years and stay longer each time we go-this summer we will be there 5 1/2 months. The grounds are beautiful, the sites nice and roomy, the pool and hot tub very clean (adult swim time from 9-10 which is great), extremely helpful staff and a well equipped laundry room. They serve breakfast on Saturday morning and also have a cafe where you can buy pizza, snacks, etc. There are lots of activities for kids and some for adults (murder mystery weekends, etc.) It is no wonder that it wins KOA awards every year. This is a very well run campground maintained by an excellent and caring staff and owners. Kudos to Ken, the manager, and the Rose's, the owners.

Room Tip: There are no bad sites.

We have stayed at many KOA's across the U.S. and this one stands out as a real jewel. Each time we have stayed here we start out staying a few days and then keep adding on more days. We just hate to leave ! The grounds are well kept, the laundry and bathrooms are immaculate and we love the campsites with concrete pads. And best of all is the staff -- they are so friendly and helpful that you feel like they are your friends. Can't wait to go back next fall !!

KOA staff were so friendly and helpful. This location was great, not far from the State Park.
