I doubt you can find anyone who could not agree with the following: Chandler's is very expensive. The atmosphere is what it is. It's small - rustic to a degree and "Up North hip" to another. The food is usually very good.
With that out of the way, it's just very hard to justify the prices at Chandler's. Sure the food is prepared nicely, and sometimes they offer high-quality wild caught fish (not farm raised) and sometimes local free range/organic chicken will find its way into the specials. But mostly there's nothing great about the food product here (in other words, you can get the same frozen meat and food truck vegetables anywhere - for a lot less). And their Select Grade filet is $41! Yes it's prepared nicely, but it's Select Grade cow! Come on!
Also consider that for whatever reason, there's a TV in this place. Strange. And Sportscenter is constantly on (seriously, it's alway on). It's really bizarre. To make matters worst, the employees are absolutely habitual about watching the TV - to a degree that they seem to find it more important than their customers (whether at their table, the bar, or having just walked in the door looking for help).
Finally, it's really, really cold inside Chandler's in the winter. Do not sit anywhere near the door unless you have very warm boots and a couple layers on (a scarf will help).
