“No surprises”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

This hotel is unusual only in the sense that it is like a chain hotel in a land of mom and pop motels and up north lodges. The room was large and clean, the beds comfortable, everything like you'd expect from an average chain motel. The room was non-smoking but had just a trace air of previous smokers. The shower and bathroom was clean and modern and well lit.

Breakfast consisted of juice, coffee, muffins, and donuts. The front desk attendant was helpful and friendly.

The room was fairly quiet on the night I was there other than hearing the screams of children at the local "Haunted Trail" Halloween event next door, a once a year occurance. If it was a busy time of the year I imagine the room would be a bit noisy as the walls were thin enough for me to hear someone in another room snoring. Bring your earplugs or do like my friend did in his room and just turn the room fan on all night.

The hotel is not on the beach but right in town and conveniently located not far from the Falls, and Whitefish Point Bird Observatory (where we were headed) and the other attractions (beaches, national and state forests) of the area.

Room Tip: get an second floor room to cut down on the noise

“Clean, average motel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012 via mobile

Front desk staff was very friendly. Gave us the aaa rate and called the pizza place down the road for us to make sure we could get delivery before they closed. Room was clean and typical for an older motel. No frills but quiet. We were traveling with no reservations and were pleased with the service. Coffee juice and donuts in the morning is more of a courtesy than a breakfast. Beds were fine.

“If you gotta, you gotta”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012 via mobile

There aren't many places to stay, or eat in Paradise. The hotel was OK, at best. The desk staff were not helpful and often absent. There is an ice machine you have to pay to use, and even then rarely worked. The room was good size, bed had a cheap mattress, and the whole place felt less than clean. The breakfast included stale doughnuts and warm coffee. We paid more for the room here than at the Gateway Motel in Newberry, and that was a nice stay.

“Had a Great Stay !!!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

We stayed in this motel July 27th and 28th and had a great stay, we were in room 114 and it was Real Clean which is a big plus in our Book, Plus the air conditioner worked Great when we came back to the Room after a Busy day, We will stay there again when we get up that way, The only gripe that we had about Paradise is they need better places to eat, The Berry patch just plain Sucks and the Yukon Inn is not very clean to eat there, More of a place to Drink I Guess.

Room Tip: Take your own food, Because Paradise is Real Far from Paradise !!!!

“Anything But Paradise”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2011

Average room that is way overpriced at $69. Large room with one uncomfortable lounge chair. Wall covering is peeling from people leaning too far back in the chair. Mattress is soft. Bathroom looks remodeled but has low pressure from shower head. Continental breakfast consists of coffee, juice, and doughnuts. Staff at front desk is very unfriendly.
The town of Paradise has few other choices for lodging or even dining. The Best Western appears to be the best option but may not be open year round. A fish house may be the best dining option, but in October is only open Tuesday thru Saturday. The other option is a tavern with burgers.
If possible, I would plan a trip where I would not have to stay in Paradise. Tahquemenom Falls is a good place to visit. A brewery and restaurant is at the falls.
