“Resting in a motel on Lake Superior”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

Very nice, clean, and hospitable accommodations! The rooms are large and very clean. If at all possible, book your room on the back side looking out over Lake Superior. Enjoy the morning sunrise. The back rooms face East. There is a good/excellent place to eat at the entrance, road side. Enjoy a short trip up to Whitefish Point Lighthouse. The beach is fantastic. And, if you are a rock collector, you will be overwhelmed. Wake up and enjoy their coffee and continental breakfast which is served beginning at 6:30. MMMM-good!

Room Tip: If you can, book a room on the back side facing the Lake.

This is an older hotel that has been well maintained - the room and common areas were nice and clean. We had a room with a balcony and a beautiful lake view and the small private beach area had chairs available. Breakfast was the typical continental. There are only a few restaurants and small shops in the town but the falls were worth the short drive and hike.

This is a very clean hotel. Very quiet. Can't imagine a more peaceful place. Essentially 2 places of interest in area. Whitefish Point where there is an interesting Shipwreck Museum and Tahquamenon Falls State Park. Pretty isolated. If you insist on fine dining, don't go here. There are about 3 choices of places to eat and none are real good. You can swim in Lake Superior by a nice beach. No alcohol served on premises but there is a "restaurant" at the entrance which does a pretty good job on food and has a full bar. If you like isolation, this is the place to go. They have a reasonably good breakfast included and the visit to the state park is nice.

Room Tip: Try to get a lake view room. The first floor has walkout to a grassy area overlooking the beach. T...

This former Best Western hotel is attractive and clean, and looks like new. There are great views of Whitefish Bay from the lakeside rooms, and a nice pool area. The Continental Breakfast offers a modest variety of options in an attractive setting overlooking the bay.

There is delicious Mackinac Fudge Ice Cream in the shop at the front of the property, but we found the adjoining restaurant to be mediocre.

What a nice place in the middle of a small town. You wouldn't know that this hotel is 12 years old. It's clean, up to date and you can tell that the staff cares about what they are doing. Beautiful views....great breakfast.....nice pool. The staff couldn't be nicer and more helpful. Had a room facing the lake.....sounded like the ocean. I highly recommend it.

Rooms were spacious and the balcony was excellent right on the lake. Kept windows and doors open all night and listened to the waves on beach. Pool was big and hardly anyone in it which was nice.
Got to walk on beach and sit in chairs already there for you. Very nice place.

Room Tip: choose a balcony room

This hotel is super clean, the staff is friendly, the view is magnificent and the little strip of beach along the Lake Superior shoreline and the adirondeck chairs are just perfect. The breakfast was great...not crowded and fancy, but adequate and the rooms were super clean and beds were comfy. It is a perfect distance from Taquehemenon Falls and super duper relaxing. On or 4 day UP roadtrip, this was our favorite motel.
