We were staying a short distance at the HE Express, and our room key had a coupon for a free spinach dip and that did influence our visit as we love to try new spin dips. I looked up the reviews on TA and it also had good reviews.
The atmosphere was quietly elegant, low lighting and a mix of tables and booths. A separate bar area was lively with people there for either a happy hour or to watch basketball. Drink prices were on par with an Applebees or BWW, with a fair selection of bottle beers but only a few tap beers. DW enjoyed a key lime pie martini.
The waitress was okay, not the most attentive but got the job done and other staff did clear dishes for us as well. The spinach dip was good, huge portion and we couldn't finish it. I had the lobster bisque as a $3 upcharge for my dinner and it was worth it. Very tasty with plenty of lobster, a little thicker than I like but still very good. DW had a weed salad, nothing special - she felt the dressing was basic out of a bottle.
Our entree's were the 'combo' types - I had the tuna steak with wasabi lime sauce and stuffed shrimp, she had prime rib and shrimp skewer. Both meals were cooked appopriately and served at good temperature. I really enjoyed the tuna, the shrimp was just okay as the 'stuffed' part didn't have a lot of flavor and the texture was very weak. The prime rib was good as were the shrimp, not gourmet food but certainly passable. That is really the only reason for 4 star, as I felt that what they were trying to accomplish (environment, food, service) was a little more than the end product.
Overall, we would return. The food was good, the price was good and the service was passable - it just felt like there was something more to get that 5 star from me.
