“Very nice, would stay again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2014

Nicely done, obviously a newer hotel. Most if not all bathrooms have that musty smell, it is likely an uncleaned drain. Not the case in the hotel, the bathroom actually smelled clean, a rarity in hotels these days. Standard type room, but again, clean and everything in working order. The room was quiet, not a sound to be heard from other rooms. Check in was quick and easy, front desk clerk had recommendations for restaurants, having said that, there are not many restaurants in the area other than fast food places. No Applebee's, Olive Gardens, etc. If you want those drive about 6 miles to South Bend. The place I did eat was good, but nothing special. Typical HIE breakfast was stocked earlier than the opening time allowing early risers a chance to eat. Hotel is located right on the main road, but far enough off that traffic noise should not be a concern. Parking lot was large enough for trucks with trailers, and well lit. Hotel is located in what was and appeared to be a safe neighborhood. There are not a lot of hotels in this area, and when returning this is where I will stay.

Stayed at this hotel after a wedding in Niles. $120 for a Saturday seemed steep and I would say I didn't feel it was a great value. I imagine the premium for a chain hotel in a small Midwestern town is a bit more expensive given relative lack of competition in the area. There is Notre Dame nearby but I don't think South Bend is a heavy business/travel/convention destination.

The staff was friendly on the two occasions I needed to talk to someone. Everything was reasonably clean and you could tell it is of newer construction. The room was nice and spacious. A few complaints...the room smelled bad to me, maybe it was because the pool was across the hall? When I woke up at about 7 am there was an incredible amount of noise. You have to expect that being on the first floor but it was excessive and the walls, as others have echoed, seem to be thin. Continental breakfast was nice. The scrambled eggs tasted really bizarre to me which seems odd given they are eggs. Orange juice fountain was out but an employee quickly refilled it.

Given the lack of options in the area it is probably your best bet.

We certainly do appreciate your feedback, and yes this market is a very busy area. We have made notes of your concerns and have communicated them to the appropriate departments. We certainly do hope you will try us again in the future.

Stayed at this hotel in Niles on and off for roughly two months for work obligations. During my time in the Michigan-Indiana area I stayed at roughly four-five different Holiday Inns and this one was clearly a notch above the rest. The hotel is relatively newer and thus is nice both inside and outside. Rooms are of fine quality, great beds. Got all the other normal amenities: pool, exercise room, wifi and free hot and cold breakfast which is always good but the customer service here is what sets it apart. In my opinion they're a model for all other hotels, IHG hotels in particular where the customer service is very up and down. April, Taylor and Brandy were my most frequent interactions, all three were very polite, extremely welcoming and quickly catered to any requests I had which made being so far from home a lot easier. The price here is in the typical Holiday Inn range and during Notre Dame football games you're gonna get the big corporate price bump but for the customer service you'll receive it's the best place in the area, hands down. I would definitely stay there again.

Nice new clean hotel. Stayed with another family for a weekend of snowmobiling. Breakfast was great. Rooms were very clean and spacious. Kids enjoyed the pool. They even baked cookies for the guests one evening. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

We stayed here one night in a suite. We were travelling with several other family members for a funeral and the staff was kind enough to put us all near each other so we could easily gather/communication.

We had a king bed in one room and two double beds in the main room. It was a little more than we usually spend but WORTH IT. It was great! Everything was Clean, comfortable and tons of room to hang out on the couch or on the beds. My boys were thrilled to each have a queen bed to themselves while we were in the extra room with the king (needs a night light - no windows make it PITCH black when you turn out the lights.)

Everything seemed new and updated. The halls and lobby were well lit. The front staff was courteous.

The only complaint was that the front walkway could have used a little more shovelling. Not a big deal for me but definitely for the seniors we were travelling with. Hard to negotiate luggage around snow.

The pool was nice - smaller than we were expecting - but who cares -- the kids loved it. Breakfast was good - the cinnamon rolls, pancake maker, lots of hot coffee, etc.

Clean, updated, a good value. Very satisfied with this stay.

Room Tip: I dont think you can go wrong here but if you're on the first floor, you'll want to make sur...

Thank you so much for your wonderful review about our hotel. We do work hard to keep our hotel to the standards guests like you come to expect from a Holiday Inn Express. We did try to keep up with the bout of snow we were receiving during your visit. We are truly sorry for your loss and we do hope things went as well as they could during this hard time. Thank you again and we hope to see you again under happier circumstances.

Two adults and 5 children stayed 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Express Niles. We stayed in a room that could accommodate 8 people. It contained a large room with 2 double beds and a sofa bed and a separate bedroom with a king bed. I especially liked the floor space, as none of the children got in each others way and the toddler had enough room to move. Both rooms had tv's. Also included were a microwave, fridge, and a second sink. There was a pool which we used once. It was cold, due to the fact that they had recently had a leak that needed pool draining in order to repair, so it was in the process of being reheated. Breakfast was included. It was actually the first time I had seen an automatic pancake maker rather than a waffle maker. There were biscuits and gravy, eggs, muffins, etc (the normal restaurant breakfast), but enough for everyone in our party to find something he/she liked. I was really impressed on the last day when the desk clerk addressed me by name as soon as I walked up to the counter when checking out. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
