“Small town gem! Wonderful hospitality.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013 via mobile

Why stay in some bland featureless motel or hotel chain? The two best things about La Belle are the hospitality (and cooking) of Doug & Robin and the dining table, front porch and pavilion which encourages friendly conversation with the hosts and other guests. We will definitely return: highly recommended!

If you want to experience "southern" hospitality, this is the place to stay. The whole atmosphere is one of relaxation and comfort. The rooms are even more inviting than as presented on the web site. You won't find a Hilton or Marriott in the area but La Belle Bed and Breakfast offers you the same standards and amenities. If you want to experience home cooking at its best, Robin will fix a breakfast that will put Cracker Barrel out of business. Have you ever tried "Scottish Eggs?" Or do you prefer pancakes with home made maple syrup? You won't leave the table hungry! If you want to experience something unique, Robin and Doug will make your stay one to remember. I know, I stayed a month!!!

Doug and Robin are great! I will be back again. Second time I've stayed here! Beautiful rooms. I stayed in the Lumbermans room. Interesting history. R.K. Riblet owned the home! Lots of cute little shops in the area.

My husband and I were getting married in Newaygo because both of our families are from there, so we decided to try a bed and breakfast instead of a hotel room. It was a excellent choice. We stayed in the Lumberman's Room, the bed was super comfortable and the whole feel of the house was welcoming. We enjoyed breakfast with the innkeepers and talked like we were old friends. We just loved it.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms have their own bathrooms.

We spent a weekend here just on a get out of town trip. The accomodations were excellent. Very clean and the bed was perfect. The innkeepers were very friendly and we spent a lot of time talking about ghosts in old homes. None here though. The small towns in the surrounding area were fun to explore and the antique hunting was great. The innkeepers recommended The Sportsman s Den for dinner and it was great. I would definetly reccomend this B and B and would go back again

Room Tip: Lumbermans suite is the best

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

We stayed here recently for a family reunion. My wife's cousin owns a lake house nearby, but its not big enough for the entire extended family, so about 10 of us stayed here in 4 rooms. The inn is very nice. We've stayed in many B&B's around the world, and while it wasn't as good as some, considering the price and the other options nearby, we were very pleased.

The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was very good. The innkeepers/owners were friendly and accomodating, especially of the in-laws who had some children who weren't always calm and quiet.

Would suggest staying in one of the upstairs rooms, which I think cost a bit more but have ensuite facilities. The rooms downstairs are quite a bit smaller, and aren't really good for anything other than sleeping, since the furniture takes up about 90% of the space. Also, I think there are 4 bedrooms downstairs that all share one bathroom. This can be a little frustrating, since 8 adults to one shower can prove problematic.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. We value your comments. I would like to address one comment you made. The downstairs bedrooms actually share two bathrooms.
