“Modern, clean lines, very hospitable!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2009

We loved our stay at Lake Country Inn and would highly recommend it!

We flew in very late into Chicago and the owner had to drive over at 1am to let us in. He was very nice and accomodating and gave us a more convenient and larger room on the first floor.

The decor is modern, high-end. Loved the spa-smelling soaps, shampoo! The room came with a continental breakfast- juice, coffee, fruit. Definitely stay here!

Hosted a family reunion here for a group of 25 from 8 to 80 years old. Received many favorable comments about how everyone felt so comfortable that it was much like staying in our home, not like a hotel. Rick, the owner, was always available but so unobtrusive you hardly noticed he was there, but the coffee and pastrys were always on time and any other detail that came up was taken care of immediately. The Four Seasons Room was a perfect gathering place and the back porch and Lobby also gave places for smaller groups to catch up. Because most rooms have only one bed we had to do some creative room assignments and Rick was very helpful and cooperative with that. But the rooms are really the highlight of this place-bright, cheerful, colorful and nicely decorated with features such as fireplaces & porches that are not found in most hotels.

Absolutely Fabulous! When you walk into the "Mango" room, you feel like you have left the midwest and are somewhere tropical. A peek into the "Blue" room on the 2nd floor, has a very "Ralph Lauren" East Coast feel. The owner is delightful and unintrusive. If you are tired of the big hotels and are looking for a more personal experience - as if you were staying with a relative, then you ABSOLUTELY must stay here. I enjoyed spending time in the 4 seasons room reading in front of the fireplace.

The place is one of the unknown gems of the area. It looks like a cute, beachside inn from the outside, but inside the rooms are very new and updated. The rooms all seemed to be good-sized, and a good number of them have sitting areas in addition to the bedroom.

The room we stayed in had a very attractive (and comfortable!) bed that had Ralph Lauren linens. There is also high-speed internet, a continental breakfast each morning, and a common area with a fireplace.

All in all, a great experience. I cannot believe why more people don't mention this place.

We spent a relaxing summer weekend here. The place isn't listed in some of the information listings for that whole area of Michigan (called Harbor Country) and I have no idea why. It was fantastic. The place looks like a quaint old inn on the outside but the inside is completely modern, clean and comfortable. Apparently it was only built 5 years ago but the outside was designed to fit in with the town, which is much nicer than some of the other new construction in town.

The hotel is just off the main street in New Buffalo and within a 10-15 minute walk to the water. We stayed in the Orange Room which was on the first floor. It was spotless, the bed was comfortable and everything was modern. There are some pastries and coffee in the morning.

The owner, Rick, was very helpful and gave us great suggestions on where to eat. I would definitely spend another relaxing weekend here in the summer. I can't say enough nice things about this place.

My husband and I have stayed here several times and absolutely love it! It's like staying with friends who know how to take care of you, without hovering. We love to sit on our private porch and read for hours and it's really conveniently located to everything in downtown New Buffalo (just steps away). Even the beach is just a few blocks away.

The owner is wonderfully gracious, ready to help make your stay perfect. He has fresh coffee and pastries waiting downstairs each morning - all you do is fill up a tray and take it to your room!

As much as I hate for this place to be "discovered," it's worth sharing.

We spent three wonderful summer days at this beautiful, top-of -line inn, conveniently located in the center of charming New Buffalo.
Owner Rick Cyrnek has created a luxurious oasis, with quality evident throughout the inn. The individually furnished and decorated rooms feature understated traditional decor, with heavenly bedding and linens, flat screen TVs, internet access, and gorgeous baths with spa quality toiletries.
Daily self-serve continental breakfast includes fresh fruit and bakery pastries, served in the stunning common area. Guests are invited to use the refrigerator, and the courtyard's separate great room for reading, socializing, and lounging. On site parking is a huge plus on weekends and during the summer season. The inn's location make it an easy walk to the beach, shops, and numerous restaurants.( Brewster's, an outstanding family-owned Italian restaurant with delightful indoor and outdoor decor, is just across the street from the Inn.)
While the inn is in all regards outstanding, it is owner Rick Cyrnak who will be remembered by guests. He is everything an innkeeper should be--friendly, kind, and accommodating. Devoted to his Airdale, he added to the inn's design a separated room for guests traveling with their dog. Every guests we spoke to raved about this highly recommended inn. We will return with pleasure.
