“Very Wonderful Getaway :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013 via mobile

This was my first trip to Michigan as well as my first experience staying at a B&B and was overjoyed with the whole trip .The rooms were clean , spacious and welcoming . We loved the deck off our room where we enjoyed our coffee in the morning and a nice glass of wine in the evening . We also took advantage of the community room , it was a great place to relax and interact with some of the other guest . The staff were very welcoming and friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying our stay . We enjoyed the fine restaurants that were in walking distance and the many winery's that were close by . The best part of our stay by far were the spectacular Sunsets . I would highly recommend this inn to anyone looking for a quiet romantic getaway !

Thank you so much for visiting us and for your review. Visiting a winery is always popular with our guests, and this is especially the case in the fall with the beautiful fall colors. If you don't want to drive, the Fruitful Vine tour or one of the local taxis will get you there. Otherwise, the thirty minute drive takes you down some great back roads and you can stop by Three Oaks on the way back. Hope to see you again soon.

Loved the cleanliness, convenience to the beach, Brewster's and The Stray Dog. We stayed in the Blue Room which included a small reading room with a mini fridge. One of the most comfortable beds ever! Loved the huge bathroom. Parking is a premium in New Buffalo so it is nice to have the free B&B parking lot. Next time we will ask for the Yellow Room (located on the front of the home with its own private deck. Behind the main building is a great gathering room and patio. We will definitely return to Lake Country Inn. It is awesome!

So happy that your stay went so well, and we really appreciate your review. Your pictures are excellent-- especially like the shots of the community room as it is often mentioned in our reviews. Our parking lot also has some new LED lighting that looks pretty cool at night. Once parked, however, guests often don't need their car. Having you stay with us was great. Thanks for sharing and hope you can make it back soon.

A great location in New Buffalo a short walk from the train station but with ample parking for those who drive. Spotlessly clean rooms in the middle of downtown. A must stay for anyone planning a visit to SW Michigan.

We very much appreciate your review, and thanks so much for staying with us. Simply put, the SW Michigan shoreline is beautiful. When guests ask about things to do in the area, the number one recommendation is a walk along the beach at sunset. Around this time of year the sunset crosses behind the Chicago skyline, and this can make for some fantastic views. Our Facebook page has many great sunset pics-- but nothing like seeing them in person. Hope to see you back soon

My husband and I stayed at the Lake Country Inn for one night on our way through Michigan. Our room (green room) was beautiful and clean, and the Inn is within walking distance of lots of shops, restaurants and the beach. We spoke with the owner, Mark, for awhile during breakfast and he is passionate about innkeeping and making sure his guests are comfortable and happy. Our only "complaint" was that the bed was much softer than we are used to, but it wouldn't be enough to deter us from returning. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back!

Thanks so very much for the review. Since we are small, there are frequent opportunities to speak with guests when I stop by the property. I really enjoy these conversations as we have lots of fantastic people staying with us, and being around people who are having fun and relaxing feels great. When the guest is having a great time, so are we. Thanks for being part of our summer. Hope you can return soon.

Enjoyed our three week day stay here with friends. Nice parking in lot adjacent to building. Great veranda seating for guests and separate large building on property with fireplace/sofa/chairs and tables for games. Queen beds were comfortable and room was clean. Staff very friendly. Could walk to downtown in a few minutes. Only thing I'd change would be to have more sound proofing between adjoining bathrooms and add a straight chair so there would be seating for two people at the same time without one having to sit on the bed. Not applicable to all rooms. Our room had an attractive antique dresser, but a desk with a chair in that space would have suited our laptop and seating needs better. Multiple rooms for our group with paying individually was great. A great stay!

Room Tip: No problem with street side room noise, but not there on a weekend.

We are very pleased your group enjoyed the stay, and thank you very much for the review. We often have groups of couples stay with us, and they find the community room in the backyard a great place to congregate. We are looking into additional desk/seating for some of the rooms as you suggested. Otherwise, we try to encourage our guests to let us know if they need something as we can usually accommodate requests. Hope you can return soon-- thanks again.

We stayed at the Lake Country Inn July 28 - August 2, 2013 in the aqua room. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and we felt very much at home during our stay. And, the room was one of the cleanest rooms I've ever stayed in. My husband and I enjoyed having coffee in the mornings sitting on the back porch, and having wine in the four season room by the fireplace. The location made it easy for us to walk to the beach and restaurants. We'll definitely be back.

Our slogan is " Your Place at the Lake". So we are very pleased you felt at home duing your stay. Our porches are very popular with guests and contribute to the feeling of being at a home.
Also, while the property looks like a house, it was built specifically in 2005 to be an inn. So glad you stayed with us. Hope you can return soon

Stayed for one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had the Green Room and it was great. Location is right in town but quiet. Arrived early and room was ready. They have an all season room to read or play games. We ate our breakfast out there and they even turned on the fireplace for us. You really can't go wrong staying here!

Thanks so much for the review and for staying with us. Thank you also for posting your picture. The Four Seasons room is separate from the main building/guest rooms, and is located in the back of the property. It is a great spot to take breakfast, play games, or just hang out. The space also works really well if you are with a group. The room has multiple large windows and glass patio doors so it has a very open feel. Fireplace is getting used more now with cooler temps returning. Hope you can return soon, and congrats on your anniversary.
