Initially we were impressed with the staff when making the booking, we walked in at 6pm and booked for 7.30. So we were a bit discomforted when we returned 90 minutes later and weren't recognised by the young lady who had spoken with us earlier.
Never mind, the menu looked good and was reasonably priced at 25€ per head. My daughter and I both ordered the Tournedos steaks, which were an extra 4€.
The starters were fine, nice scallops in a ginger, spicy sauce; pea soupe with goats cheese foam; goats cheese wrapped in roasted aubergines.
Unfortunately it went a bit downhill for the mains - although my wife enjoyed her duck confit, our Tournedos steaks were very disappointing. We asked for medium rare but, as usual they came rare. This could have been excused except that the steaks were lukewarm, even cold in the middle! Even the dauphinoise potatoes were only warm.
Such a shame but the desserts were also very good - so you can only say that the chef had an off-night.
We didn't complain because our French is not good and their English was as bad. Also, we had had to wait some time for the food, were hungry and the duck was delivered hot and fresh, so we didn't want to spoil the others' dinner.
Might go again but will be ready for them if they make the same mistake!
