Stayed at La Maison De Blauzac in September 2006. Living in Paris, I regularly visit Provence, but had not been to the Uzes area. I found this particular gem through I Escape and booked immed. The village of Blauzac is very picturesque and quiet. The Hotel is on a tiny little square by the Church in the most picturesque setting possible. The house is beautiful, completely quiet and the rooms are beautifully decorated - in fact they were featured this Autumn in Cote Sud.
Breakfast is a real treat and can be taken in the "picture perfect" garden overlooking the hills of provence. The swimming pool is tucked away in the corner and ideal for a dip at the end of a deliciously sunny day.
However, the real stars are the hosts Christian and Pierre who run their wonderful home with immense charm and style. They are simply the most gracious hosts, always on hand, but never intrusive - a rare skill indeed. They have a wonderful reputation locally and are always on hand to recommend the best restaurants, bars, museums, exhibitions etc.,
Although travelling alone, I was made to feel so welcome and met several couples during my 4 night stay who were all completely charming and delighted with their find.
Blauzac is about 10 minutes drive from Uzes, so you definately need a car. There is not much happening in the village, but there are great restaurants in Uzes and lots to see culturally, museums, galleries etc., and the week-end market is fun.
I will definately go back and visit Christian and Pierre and would strongly recommend this charming hotel if visiting the region.
