“Lovely place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

Great hotel with lots of charm and character and we were made to feel very welcome. Convenient for a stay to visit the nearby mt st Michel . This is our second stay and would revisit for sure. Secure parking is a bonus and the breakfast is served in a peaceful setting.

We stayed here for one night with friends on a two week trip to France, with a focus on Normandy. The location is good, only 15-20 km from Mont St Michel, and just outside the charming village of Avranches. The house is quite attractive, situated on a large gardened property adjacent to a quick route to local attractions. Downstairs includes a large bar room, and a glassed in breakfast area that is very confortable. The breakfast was good, including the usual yummy croissants, local jams and jellie, juices, breads, cheeses and meats, cereals and fresh eggs for boiling. The rooms are upstairs and are reasonably comfortable, although not huge. Service was good, as Veronique was very cordial and responsive. She did let us open our own bottle of wine, along with one purchases from her stock, to go with the baguette, cheese and pâté we brought in for a light dinner.

Room Tip: Only saw the two rooms at top of the stairs. Both were very similar.

We spent a single night here but wished for a longer stay.

Beautifully decorated throughout and an air of peacefulness at all times. The bedroom was large & well equipped with a queen size bed complete with canopy. The room had free wifi and spacious bathroom.

The grounds were large and were a perfect backdrop for the breakfast hosted in the conservatory.

Breakfast was self service and included local cheeses, hams and artisan bread - with a backdrop of the garden and classical musical it made for a perfect start to the day.

This was a great place that deserves more than the single day we had. If you're in south-west Normandy I recommend this hotel

Room Tip: Book the double room

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights, along with my parents. We were warmly greeted at arrival by Veronique, who was pleasantly doing double-duty between the reception and the bar area. Her smile and hospitality were a constant throughout our stay. She offered terrific recommendations for places to eat and things to see and do. The hotel is really lovely too, comfortable, clean and charmingly appointed. It's a great place to relax and just 15 minute drive to Mt. St. Michel. We plan to return again soon with our daughters to further explore the area, and would not want to stay anyplace else.

We stayed at this beautiful hotel for two nights and what can we say the owner Veronique was so kind and friendly and our room was really good, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast served in the Conservatory at the Ramade was excellent. Your can sit and relax in the beautiful gardens of the hotel. We found the drive along the coastline from the hotel was really interesting, we stopped at Carolles, Jullouville and Granville this is certainly worth the drive especially as the weather was beautiful. We will be returning next year and we will most definately visit Le Mont Saint-Michel which we understand is superb and well worth a visit. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: This was our first visit but we understand that all the rooms are very good.

Beautiful hotel with lovely garden.we had a family room on two levels with plenty of space for the three of us. The bed was very comfortable and the room had everything we needed.Veronique couldn't have been more helpful, she made a reservation for us at a great restaurant with views over the Bay.She was very knowledgeable about Mont Saint Michel and had the tide times displayed in the reception area. Thanks to her advice we changed our plans about when to visit Mont St Michel and had a wonderful visit seeing high tide come in and enjoying a very special Son et Lumiere tour of theAbbaye.Breakfast was delicious with good choice available .Would definitely recommend La Ramade

We were so pleased with La Ramade. The property is gorgeous and our hostess and host were extremely warm and helpful. Our room was well-appointed, comfortable and very charming. The breakfast was delicious and served in a beautiful setting. If we find ourselves in Normandy again we will definitely return to La Ramade!
