“A lovely evening”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013 via mobile

Our first night staying in Monflanquin and we chose La Grappe de raisin and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious. Our waitress, who initially seemed reserved, did eventually warm to us and our experience was delightful.

“Vacances de 'van Kempen'”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

Tonight we dined at La Grappe de raisin for the first time and had a fabulous night! The manager 'Ewan', was warm and friendly and most gratuitous. We were made to feel like real friends. The service was great as was the food - we had some pizza's and salad. One waitress spoke amazing English and we had some nice exchange of conversation with her. We just wish we had found this restaurant much sooner on in our holiday. We noticed some horrible reviews since our visit and can only say that we do not believe them. Please visit this restaurant it is lovely and so are the staff!

“No Thanks”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013 via mobile

Never got to try the food, I fear I may have died waiting for it. Couldn't even secure a wine list to amuse myself in between the periods when i was not the recipient of scowled grimaces from the waitress, a rather harassed young woman who would benefit from career advice, she managed only just to avoid fainting when a hungry member of our party committed the ultimate sin and risked sudden death by asking for bread , we were advised that bread was not permitted however despite this unique mantra the worlds smallest bread basket was miraculously conjured but it came with the strict condition that it be secreted. We never found out from whom because our party of 9 upped and left as we felt we'd prefer to eat somewhere where you are served in your own lifetime by waiting staff who have not recently completed a service skills course at Alcatraz. A simple case of a tourist trap restaurant that doesn't need the cash. We ate elsewhere and had a great time.

“better than other reviews”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

First off this comes somewhere between 3 stars (average) and 4 stars (very good). Went there as had just driven for hours and the kids wanted something quick and easy - ie a pizza! There pizzas were very good. I went for a prawn starter, at expected rather more than 3 for my €9.80 - definitely would advise not to order a starter if that is what they are going to charge. I went for the cassoulet and didn't have the problems that a previous reviewer encountered, and I very much enjoyed it. The creme brulee was not that great. Too sweet and a little curdled. Service was fine, although it did take a good 20 minutes for the bill to come. Nothing we encountered would put me off going back.
