This gem offers a lifeline to anyone in search of a place to relax and enjoy great food. Whilst tiring of the umpteenth confit of duck normally on local restaurant menus, la Savie offers an excellent alternative which puts you in touch with something more cosmopolitan. The menu is carefully chosen to cater for both the adventurous and the more traditional palette. We chose the tartare de saumon and a lentil dish as starters, all very satisfying. The herbs (grown by frederic) added a new dimension with subtle flavours we had not encountered before adding a charm to his already delicious cooking. For mains, a very generous tartiflette, a fruit de mer made with a Thai stock and braised ox tail. We were delighted by these dishes. My braised oxtail was robust yet with clear flavours unsullied by the normal over saltiness I associate with such a dish. No attention had been spared by the chef and equally the service was excellent. Then the desert... It is best not to give away the ending of a good story. I hope this will entice you to share our experience! All in all it was a great pleasure to enjoy these wonderful flavours in an intimate ambience made with great care and attention to detail.
