“a piece of history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

Loved touring the submarine and seeing how our Navy-men lived in these during WW II. It's still sea-worthy and is maintained so it could be used again. A bit of history and one of the last remaining of its kind.

“Well worth your time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Fascinating museum and submarine-USS Silversides. Very well kept museum and grounds. So inspiring and steeped with history. Price was modest. Take time to look at everything. The staff were awesome!

“Small but interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

Small museum, but the cost includes the tour of submarine also, which was really cool. It was not busy at all when we visited which was really nice.

“USS SILVERSIDES Submarine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

The museum includes a wide range of exhibits and displays focusing on the USS Silversides, World War II, the Pearl Harbor attack, submarines, the Cold War, marine technology, and Great Lakes shipping. The theater features a documentary film about U.S. involvement in World War II and the role of U.S. Navy Submarine Service. Museum admission can be purchased individually or with admission to USS Silversides and USCGC McLane.
The self-guided tour of these two vesssels is an opportunity to experience life asea. Walk the deck and through the major internal compartments below deck. Check the schedule online as times vary depending on the season. If you come with a group, plan ahead to spend the night on the submarine.

“Very cool!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

It was neat to see a real submarine and walk through it. All the gadgets and how they sleep and eat, was interesting!
