“What a combination - latte and dessert”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

This place has got to have the best desserts anywhere. And at only $2.50 for the 'specialty desserts' the price is right also. The service was only average. Surprisingly, there were very few people for 10:00 on a Saturday morning. But the coffee (actually, latte) was very good and the dessert was excellent. The cannoli is a must.

“We visited The Sweet Spot and Courses Restaurant.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2011

We were visiting my granddaughter, who is a student at CIM. We had visited before and enjoyed pastries from the Sweet Spot so this time we included a trip to Courses
Restaurant which is in the same building and is also part of the school. The food was
fantastic and the service great. Everything is done by students, there is even a television so you can watch food being prepared in the kitchen. The menu is very eclectic and they also have a full bar. This is an experience in fine dining with prices you can afford. I will definitely go back again. It is a good idea to make reservations for lunch or dinner.

“Nothing sweeter in the world!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2011

We took a trip to Muskegon area to pick up my neice from Blue Lake Camp and decided to stay the night at the Holiday Inn. Accross the street wasa a very nice looking brick building that caught our eye, it was the Culinary Institute of Michigan. They had a Coffee House called the Sweet Spot in the building, so we decided to go take a look inside. They had the BEST desserts in the world displayed proudly in the glass case! I had a cherry canolli, the others tried The Opera Cake (Tiramisu like), Lemon Chiffon cake, Plain Cheesecake and chocolatey brownies! They also served coffee along with other drinks. We took our delights to the enjoy in the park accross the street at a picnic table.

Our kids range in age from 6 - 11 and they all thought it was the best! My youngest said it was the best day ever because she had a tasty treat in the park! :)
