“Not great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012 via mobile

We stayed in this hotel more by default than anything else (arrived late and other, better rated, places were full), and it wasn't terrible but it was the worst place we've stayed in in the region. The room decoration was tired, carpet stained, bath towels a bit torn and generally I didn't feel that my 96€ was well spent. Breakfast at 9€ was also a bad deal. Wouldn't recommend this as a place to stay but not sure there are sufficient alternatives in town, which is a shame because the town itself is picturesque.

The hotel's front door opens onto the town square - near the church/clock tower and municipal police station. However, if you're driving and want to get their parking area, it's a bit of a maze.

Once at the hotel, you'll find a small dining room and the continental breakfast buffet has meager offerings. There is a small common area as well and even a sitting area near the hidden parking area. That sitting area is a nice place to relax but will be disturbing to those with rooms whose windows face it (as did mine). The room itself is nice - high quality sheets and a soft mattress (bed is more like a futon).

The hotel is close to all the shops and restaurants so there's no need to be stuck in your room all day.

If location is advantageous, Hotel de la Tour's is ideal. It opens onto Ribeauville's Place de la Mairie, the village's main plaza, that fronts the 300+-year-old village hall or Hotel de Ville. That location puts the hotel just about midway along Grand' Rue, the winding 1.5-mile main street that runs south to north. Guests will have fabulous views of the annual Pifferdaj parade that is held every year on the first Sunday in September. The parade gets underway at 3 p.m.

Room Tip: Try to book a room overlooking Place de la Mairie.

This is a fairly standard 3 star hotel. Beds are OK and rooms are clean.

We stayed here for 4 nights on our way to Italy.
Location:
Just perfect, everything within walking distance. Ribeauvillé is a beautiful town and you can reach Riquewihr in 15 minutes by car.
Hotel:
The staff were very friendly and spoke good english. Our room (35) was dark but very quiet and clean. Free WiFi. Breakfast was good, you could pay extra for eggs or omelette. The room didn't have a minibar but the hotel had a bar and you could take the drinks to the room. The hotel have a parking lot that is closed during night. If you are a golfer they have 20% discont on the greenfee on nearby golfcourses. Ammerswihr was a great course, but hilly. Use a cart!
Wine:
A lot of very good winecellars in the town center. Trimbach, Louis Sipp and the Cave de Ribeauvillé to name a few.

The hotel is in a great location overlooking Place de la Mairie, the old town hall, and the bear fountain with views of the hilltop castle. The room was very spacious with a nice sitting area and good sized bathroom with shower. Free parking is a block away. An ideal location for touring the Route du Vins and the nearby villages and castles.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view of the square.

Definition of easy. Parking on the square in front of the Hotel. Welcoming front desk. Now has a saunna and large whirlpool. This is a very nice Hotel for the price. My room was a double used as a single with a view of the square and gate (clock tower). I like being able to drive up to the front door upon arrival. 10 minutes from Riquewihr. Approx. 35 minutes from Strasbourg.

Room Tip: Request a room with a view.
