Description: Right at the heart of this intellectual and humid city is located “El Sesteo” a nice setting with a nice view and a unique decoration. The food is nice has a good variety of things, Local food, Mexican, Sea food (ocean is only 20min away) and international cuisine, Service is pretty good and all of the walls are decorated with the local dance, folklore and most important people of Leon one of them Ruben Dario Father of the modernism and prince of the Spanish language. They are open for lunch and dinner and probably have the best view of any restaurant in Leon, have a nice breeze that run through the place and a nice view to the street which you can see the locals walking around the main square.Go and enjoy this place and give a try to local own places.

“Very good but expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2014

I eat here twice. Once for breakfast and once for lunch. It is a terrific location overlooking the cathedral and central park. The food was very tasty. I had the Nica Tipica for breakfast and it was very good. The eggs in particular were really well done. It is very expensive though. More than double for the same meal anywhere else. In hindsight I would go somewhere else to eat and then hang out at the park after.

Maybe worth going for a beer or coffee and the location but eat somewhere else unless the price doesn't matter to you.

“Great location for a drink”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2014

Right on the corner of the square, overlooking the cathedral. Great location for watching the world go by. Lots of fans and even one of those spray systems for surviving the Leon heat - 37c on my visit!

When you visit anywhere like this (the world over) you can be virtually certain you pay for the view and the food will be average. Simple solution - eat elsewhere. I did. But the view is great and a beer or lemonade go down beautifully (and the former is actually little more expensive than anywhere else in Leon).

Good place, but I wouldn't personally attempt to eat there - there are loads of hidden gems in Leon for you to spend your gringo dollars!

“Very good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2014

We hesitated a little realising there was only another table with customers and asked for the menu.
As the prices were really fair for the location we decided to sit and were not disappointed. Friendly waiters, good food and a nice view in a neat restaurant.
Definitely worth trying

“Overpriced and not worth it”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

If you are going to splurge and spend some money, there are good places to do it, but this is not one of them. They charge you $3.00 for a watered down juice. I asked for no ice but usually they load it up with ice. The food is served in small quantities and I never saw a hamburger so small. It's a great place for tourists who like to waste money on low quality food rather than eat some real local food for a third of the price.

“Overpriced and lack of quality control”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

Ate here twice...both times had El Sesteo which comprised of 3 flour tortillas, each filled differently - 1 with chicken, 1 with shredded beef, and 1 with beans. Very tasty. It kept me filed for the night but when I ordered it a second night, each filed lightly. Servers are not particularly friendly. It is good place to people watch. But alot better places to choose from in the city.
