The pros: This hostel has a lovely pool, is fairly good value, has comfy beds
The cons: The rooms with shared bathrooms, at least the ones that we were on, have 6 rooms under one big roof, with dividers that don't go all the way up. This means you can hear very clearly when anyone in any of the other 5 rooms does anything, like entering, leaving, sneezing, farting, or just moving around.
The bathrooms are a walk down a staircase away from the rooms. Big hassle if you want to pee in the middle of the night.
The biggest problem is the staff. This hostel isn't for you if you want any fun. We're by no means huge party animals - we're a couple in our mid 20's, but sometimes we like to have a few drinks with people we meet in the hostel. We were sharing a bottle of rum round one of the tables in the common area, with some music on some small, quiet portable speakers. We were told to turn it off completely at 9pm as someone was sleeping! You wouldn't get that in a hotel, let alone a hostel! By midnight, the place has to be silent. It's a real shame, as with better staff and a better policy towards guests, it could be a really nice place.
