“Good.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2014

Had the BLT and veggie soup, wife had the BBQ chicken sandwich and veggie soup. Soup was very hot and delicious. The sandwiches were great. We might go back for breakfast. You eat in a book store/gift shop. We liked the atmosphere.

“Vacation on the UP”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2014

My wife, son, daughter, her boyfriend, and I were enjoying a vacation on the Upper Peninsula. We were looking for local places to dine. The choices are limited. To my surprise the Falling Rock Cafe and Book Store is a charming sandwich counter style restaurant in the heart of town.
The sandwich menu is not extensive but they do offer some interesting specials that several members of our party ordered on this visit. They do have nice fresh ingredients and are reasonably generous in the portion sizes. A full sandwich and salad was a filling dinner for me.
I should add that we all had chocolate milkshakes. My wife didn't plan to have one but she drank some that another person had ordered and ended up having a whole order on her own because she thought it was so good. These are premium milkshakes, much better than the offerings at fastfood restaurants.

The clerk behind the counter was very friendly, patient with our slow ordering, and helpful in explaining options.
Service was reasonably quick bringing our orders to our table.

The atmosphere is literally a bookstore. There was a trio playing music at the end of the room on a guitar, violin, and wind instrument. It is unique and offers an interesting change of pace from the usual dining surroundings.

The price was reasonable.

“Cute place, great ambiance, great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

We had chicken tortilla soup, beef pasty and whitefish on a blueberry bagel. They had late opening hours, considering how tiny this town is. Very friendly staff. Can't go wrong with is little place.

“Loved this place!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2014

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is very charming inside. The food was a treat, and the ambiance was great. They have WiFi, so we were able to have a nice snack, and connect with family and friends on the net. (we were camping nearby) They even had a little jam session of local acoustic musicians which was very nice.

“Great place to kick back after hiking.”

Charming and welcoming-enjoy a latte or dish of ice cream (or both) while perusing a wide selection of used books.
