“Our best restaurant in Khiva”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

This restaurant is 5 minutes away from the center of Khiva and it is really really delicious.
We ate several times here and really it was our best in Khiva, and it is very reasonable on prices. Cheaper than many more "tourist oriented" restaurants of Khiva, even if all restaurants in Khiva are basically for tourists.
Try the eggplant salad, the soup,...
You can eat outside at night and enjoy the view on the two Koch Madrasas, it is really a great experience. We strongly recommend !!

“No more than ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

1.ok place but I guess it's good overall for central Asian restaurant.
2. Eat the pumpkin soup and the pilmini - dumplings.
3. Don't eat the meat blini (crepes) or the green noodles, or the eggplants salad.
4. Not big dishes, and I'm not a big eater. So think about first course also.
5. Try to sit outside. If you sit inside and it's hot, ask for a fan and they'll bring it for you.

“All I had was the pumpkin soup....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

but it was absolutely delicious! What I did not like was the service. I was NOT with a group and groups are clearly the focus of their attention. Understandable, but still not a good experience service wise.

“One of the worst we have encountered.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

We thought the restaurant looked pretty good as we opened the door and thought it strange when a somewhat surly waiter insisted that we sat at a certain table given that there was only one couple eating in there. He produced a menu which he grudgingly explained to us. The pumpkin and tomato soups were fine but while we were eating tables and chairs were being moved for a floor concert. Our main courses appeared as a huge group descended into the room for the entertainment. The food was just awful and totally unappetising and of course it wasn't helped by the commotion going on around us, Who wants to eat a meal as people jostle and poke cameras in front of your faces? We felt that we should have been told what was in store.
I chose the cutlets with potato- fatty soggy beef burgers and my husband beef with rice (which had clearly been reheated) - no sign of any beef!
