“OMG, Not go near it”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2015

We, (three families) booked 3 double rooms. It was hard enough to find the place as there is another sea view hotel which is of better quality. Reaching that hotel in a van is a hard task. The small lane which takes to the hotel is so bad that we felt like we are going on a bull cart on a very rough road. it's not a tar road a gravel road with holes all along. on this small lane, there is fish smell all along. my kids kept their nose closed.
Finally we reached the hotel, the staff didn't help us unload the luggage from the van.
We went and had a look at the rooms, at the first look my kids said they don't want to stay there. But because we paid the total amount we ended up staying there for one (which we planned to stay in Trincomalee). We couldn't sleep in the hotel that night as there was some door banging the whole night. also the rooms are not noise proof, very noisy. We were waiting for the sunrise so that we can leave the hotel asap. We were suppose to have breakfast there, but we (adults) only had coffee there.
When we were walking inside the hotel i saw a crab crawling inside the varanda.
All in all the hotel is out dated, the pictures on the web is not the same as you see inside.

Please stay away from this hotel. staff not professional. We did not have a single meal in the hotel as felt it's not clean. insects every where. Luckily we had insect repellent.
Totally a rip off. expensive, but very poor quality.

This was the worst hotel that we stayed. We could have got better hotels for the price we paid for this one.

Room Tip: Do not look at the photos from the hotel's website. We have been cheated by the photos. Please r...

This was the worst place we stayed at during the entire holiday. Hugh amount of bugs, dirty, lousy shower and nasty owners. Totally overpriced- never beleive the owner, always ask for a better room or better- stay away!

Good things: good price with air conditioner, close to pigeons Island. Service at front desk was average.
The bad: cleaning in the halls and stairs could be better, and smell inaode the rooms. The service at the restaurant is soooo bad, slow, and the waiters serve as if they are doing you a favor. No much options as ia far away from everything else

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights this Summer. We paid 8000 for an upstairs room which was way too much but we were too tired to care at that point. Should have haggled so partly our fault. The room was large, with a decent bed and other furniture. We had a TV with cable which was another plus. Drainage was almost non-existent in the bathroom. It was sandy after being at the beach and was difficult to wash away. The balcony had a great view of the sea. Wi-Fi wasn't free. You needed to buy dialogue scratch cards to use it in your room. The staff let us use their office wi-fi but I found it unusable.
We didn't like the beach too much, thought the hotel could have provided sunbeds and umbrellas so people can stay on the beach for longer than half an hour.
We found the restaurant to be over priced and unwelcoming. Can't comment on the quality of the food as we didn't want to spend our life savings there. The plus was that there was a very reasonably priced and high quality restaurant up the road in someone's house. It seems that a lot of guests ate there.
Overall,we thought service was poor. There only seemed to be a few guys working there which was way too few for such a big place. When you needed something it was very hard to find them. To frustrate things further only 1 spoke English so getting basic things done was difficult.
In summary, decent hotel dragged down by poor value and service.

We stayed at this hotel during our last visit to Trincomalee during April 2014. Service was excellent and food was extremely delicious. We never expected their food to be in such a superb grade the moment we visited. Even the food is so reasonable. And the portion sizes were also perfect.
Could highly recommend for anyone who will be traveling around Trincomalee to drop in atleast once to have meal at Sea View Hotel.. Ideal for foreign Travelers and locals (specially families) because this is one of the Ideal hotels for clean delicious good quality food for such a reasonable rate.
Staff was also friendly and helpful.

location is just on the beach front. you could see pidgin island from hotel balcony. Note that, do summon guidance of hotel authority in order to book boat rides to pigeon island. Else some locals try to fish in for big bucks from travelers for boat rides

Ideally situated facing a wonderful beach and 100 meters from the boats and the ticket booth to Pigeon island. Dedicated staff, ready to do everything they can to please their customers. Excellent cook
and cheap prices. The room was a bit basic (noisy AC, wires hanging ...) but - as for the third floor rooms -a very
large terrace with sea viev and sunset! There would be plenty to say about the lack of a ... feminine touch: the dining
hall looks like the entrance hall to a railway station. It is a great shame that the garden is not better kept: bits of papers lying about, the lawn need
a little trimming and the garden tables should be ...
renovated so that the clients could enjoy having dinner outside.

Room Tip: It was very hot and the AC was noisy. We dragged the matress onto our ... 200 meter private open air...
