“Nice hotel for solo travelers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

I was able to stay at the single occupancy room 209 during our PMA Convention from May 21-24. The room just the right size for me since I preferred smaller rooms since I do not have any companion with me. Buffet breakfast was adequate and delicious; however the grilled chicken and pesto I ordered for dinner tasted fried and not grilled and the pesto pasta taste like paper. Kaye and the rest of the front desk ladies were very kind and accomodating and MJ and the rest of the maintenance staff are really doing their job well. I also liked the interiors and facade of the hotel, mixing modern amenities with classical architectural design. It was also a few steps away form the historic Calle Crisologo. I would recommend solo travelers like me to try and book a room at this hotel; I would definitely stay here again if I get a chance to travel to Vigan once more.

Nice hotel, modern and clean… unfortunately there is no parking area. No unloading and loading area for hotel guests to bring their things down. We were asked to park at the corner of Mabini street to unload our things. Two hotel staffs and their manger helped us unload. All 18 of us brought our things to the lobby in a jiffy.. We stayed overnight at Ciudad Fernandina, we just noticed our GREEN BAG was missing in the morning when we are about to leave. I immediately called the Mangers attention. I pointed out the staff that held the green bag when we arrived. That same guy rushed to the corner where we unloaded and brought back the bag. We were amazed , that he was able to find the bag in just 3mins or less. Leaving a bag on the street for a night and finding it there is unbelievable. My husband and friend said, they checked the surrounding before they parked our car from another parking lot but didn’t see any. All the stuffs inside the bag are GONE, including an expensive Headphones and Sunburn Gel. The manager gave us 1,200 for the lost items without any questions. I guess they know…

Room Tip: Don't leave your valuables inside the room

We stayed here for 2 nights and we were not disappointed. They had the best service for me. The employees were very attentive and friendly.

Rooms are clean and cozy. Wifi is a bit weak inside the rooms. Delicious food. Very elegant ambiance. Not creepy just like the other hotels in Vigan.

I will definitely recommend this to my friends. Keep it up Ciudad Fernandina Hotel!

POOR SECURITY and TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We lost our iPad inside our room while we were just downstairs having a drink. No security protocol was made save for our own request to view the cctv. The staff and their lockers were not even checked. Then we had to follow-up again in the morning and were faced with not just the hotel manager but also the HR manager because in her words "we have to protect our employees". And she even said "mam how sure are we that you even have an iPad". This is the first time we got robbed plus the first we have been accused of lying and treated so badly.
And throughout the whole ordeal, they did not offer any kind of compensation or even made any attempt to make us feel this will be taken cared of. We have travelled to many locations both local and international and it is a shame that we would experience the WORST TREATMENT in CIUDAD FERNANDINA in Vigan.
It has been 5 days and we haven't received any feedback (except for my own request of an incident report which was so flimsy and it showed how lax the security protocol is) because they said they have to "further investigate"

Vigan was our last stop on our Ilocos trip. We searched for modern/contemporary hotels in this area and this is the best place. Since celebrities/reporters who make documentaries in this area, always stay here. And we were not disappointed!

The hotel is surrounded by old buildings and what a surprised when we found it. This hotel really looks cute and elegant.

We book 2 rooms (superior) instead of a family suite since it is cheaper by 3k pesos. My 3 kids stayed in 1 room while my husband and I stayed in the other. We got rooms 317 (larger and corner) and 316. There is no elevator. Room is ok. Not too big not too small either but still modern. Breakfast was amazing. It consisted of local dishes like vigan longganisa, poque poque, etc.

Staff were very helpful, accommodating and friendly.

There is wifi but signal is weak inside our rooms. It is stronger though in the lobby.

Hotel is near Crisologo Street, just 2 blocks away. Try the Kalesa Drive which is only 150pesos/hour. The kutsero will tour you around the famous landmarks in the area. But be sure to have lunch at Secret Garden. A must try! And have dinner at Cafe Leona which is along Crisologt St. But be sure to come early because they do not accept reservation and is always full.
Buy bag net, vigan longganisa and royal bibingka at the Tiason (not sure of the name but it is near Cafe Leona, like 12 meters away).

Will surely stay at this hotel again when in Vigan!

Room Tip: If your booking for a superior room, get room 317 (corner and larger). Not advisable to book for a h...

Location is great! It's right at the heart of historic Vigan.

Service was excellent. They were quick to respond to requests (had to have them reset the safe twice and both times they were there in seconds). There was no hait dryer in the room but they were very quick to deliver one.

The rooms are very small but the beds are very comfortable. I would have given the room an excellent rating in spite of the size if the airconditioner was not positioned so it blows right smack into the bed. It was impossible to adjust it so it missed blowing directly at you!

The courtyard was very nice. We were a big group and it was an excellent place for us to hang out in. Breakfast was good. But it was odd that they wouldn't serve Vigan longanisa as part of the daily spread.
