“Great hotel, nice location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

Staff was very nice and accomodating. Hotel itself was very nice, clean, nicely furnished with great antiques on display. Sits back off the road so nice and quite as well. The Location is nice because its only a 10 minute walk to the old part of the city with all the shops and history. And the best part is the rooms which were first rate. Large like a suit with a sitting area with table ,chairs and a bench, refridgerator and new flat screen TV and a large bed that was very comfortable. The bathroom was a good size with all modern amenaties and a great shower. Overall a great place to stay.

This hotel is a gem in a very unique, extraordinary city! This beautiful hotel is a small distance walk to Old Town, Bhaktapur. This is the perfect spot in Nepal: being so close to Kathmandu but removed so you can enjoy the beauty, spirituality and peacefulness of Nepal. The General Manager took us for a personal tour of Old Town, which was a highlight of our stay in the country. What amazing customer service! Our room was spacious, clean and wonderfully decorated with Nepalese antiques. Can't wait to go back!

A great hotel, walking distance to the old town. The area in which the hotel is situated is a little rough, but then so is most of urban Nepal.
The rooms are excellent, clean and bright.
The restaurant and bar are great. Food is very good, bar service excellent.
The staff are second to none. They are very professional.

A real treat !!!

Room Tip: All the rooms I visited were very nice. ( Was with a tour group )

My wife and I spent three nights at the Hotel Heritage last week. We chose to stay in Bhaktapur instead of Kathmandu and we made the right choice. Bhaktapur is not crowded and walkable with great shops, good restaurants, and beautiful temples. Hotel Heritage did everything right - great rooms, good service and lovely antiques everywhere. We received personal service from the owner, his son, the general manager and it was very much appreciated. Stay here and you will be happy you did.

Room Tip: Higher floors are the best

Overall the hotel is really nice. It's quite new, but the use of older and natural material doesn't give it a 'just out of the box' feel (which is a plus). Rooms are nice, if a bit dark (but not not inconviniently dark).
The only area of the hotel that wasn't that nice was the lobby (not that it's ugly or anything, but not up to the rest of the hotel). Not really a problem at all tho.
Everything was clean. Food was super (best food I had in Nepal). The owner is really interesting (if a little shy).
Location is like 10 minutes walking to the city center (no light at night, still very walkable).

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for your feedback on our property. The room that you have stayed one have a double curtains (one thin and another thick) which does not allow to pass all the natural lights. It would have been more brighter if the thick curtain have removed. After your feed back we have initiated to inform all our guest about the same so that they do not experience the lack of natural light.

We have tried our best to make our lobby area more convenient with typical Nepali decoration with luxurious sofa sets. We are glad that you have enjoyed our food prepared by our highly professional Chef. We would like to assure you about our hygenic and delicious food in your future visit as well.

Once again, thank you for your feedback. We look forward to welcome you at Hotel Heritage again.

Thank you and best regards,

Sabin Lal Shrestha

Hotel overall was very clean and nice. The staff was great. Very attentive, friendly and helpful. However, 3 slight negatives. 1) their prices for food in the hotel was high. 2) it was freezing cold everywhere (ie lobby, restaurant, front desk, stairs, etc...). They should have some portable heaters. 3) room heater wasn't working very well and they didn't provide any drinking water (either hot or cold) in the room, which seems to be standard in Nepal hotels.

Service again though was excellent. Especially the front desk staff!!!!

Recently opened, it is constructed and furnished from old materials and evrything speaks of quality. All the facilites work well. Members of staff, many of whom are from disadvantaged backgrounds, were friendly and helpful. Others have commented on the convenient location outside, but close to, the town which means it is relatively quiet but accessible. In 3 weeks in Nepal and Bhutan, this hotel stood out and I should very much have liked to stay longer than the 1 night for which I had booked. Many thanks to all concerned.
