How crap can crap get? I think we know now. Desultory, ineffectual service. Crappy, poorly prepared food. The atmosphere of a mortuary with the occasional table of WiFi users/ drunk Chinese guys. That pretty sums up my experience with Manychan. Others' experiences may, of course, vary.
It's in a great location and it's got a street view and it serves beer in little cooler jackets (when you're actually able to order one). But other than that. it's an unatmospheric waste of time that gets far too many fawning reviews in The Lonely Planet of The Rough Guide or whatever for reasons that I just can't understand. Just the worst example of a place that's only operating because it's on valuable land that might appreciate one day and then can be sold to a bunch of people from Singapore.
Can't rate it low enough and only gave it a "Poor" instead of "Terrible" rating because of the street view. There are so many better places to hang around and have a beer and talk travel in Luang Namtha. Don't waste your time here.
