We recently spent time on the Panorama Route, like we have during past trips to this part of South Africa, making our first stop at the Pinnacle Rock (Entrance R5 per vehicle), just north of Graskop on the R534 turnoff.
Unfortunately, there was a great deal of haze hindering our views at many of the stopping points along the route this time around. However, this did little to effect the Pinnacle Rock stop as this stop is see the interesting geological land structure instead of the views.
Similar to past trips, we liked seeing this interesting 'quartzite buttress' tower of land, which seems to protrude out of the earth, rising approximately 30 meters, It seems ready to just crumble and/or topple over at any moment. Its a pretty cool sight but there are better stops up the road so we only spent 10-15 minutes here again before setting off.
Nearby is the God's Window viewpoint, another inclusion on the Panorama Route drive.
