“Good for our needs on this trip”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

We were in Monroe for a funeral service and needed a room for a short one night stay. This Quality Inn fit the bill even though it did not start out well. Initially, I was greeted by the manager, Shelli (I believe). She was able to accomodate us as my sister-in-law also got a room there last minute. Shelli was able to get us across the hall--NICE.
Big issue was the fact that we drove around to the back to enter and proceed to our room. The keys failed miserably in the exterior door and also initially was an issue at the room. This did not go over well after traveling in a heavy rain for miles and being tired from the whole day. Went back to the desk and got the keys redone and they worked well in the room, but we parked by the front door to avoid that whole issue.
The room itself was good, especially for our purposes on this trip--a place to try and relax and sleep. The only problems were in the shower where it seemed to be easier to pull the showerhead out of the wall than to change the spray pattern. Bathrooom seemed to be outdated as well, with the not being able to look clean appearance to it.
Unfortunately, we did not get to try the breakfast as we had to meet family and did not feel we could let them mooch a free breakfast without staying--so went next door the TA. There are several restaurants that you could walk to, but we just had a thunderstorm that knocked out power. That greatly limited our choices for breakfast.
Overall --a good stay in the mid-range for price. If we did not get to use a partial credit from expedia, we probably would have stayed elsewhere for less money.

Thank you for taking the time to inform us of your stay. I do apologize for any mix up with your keys. I will slow down next time and double check that they are correct. We do wish you had time to enjoy or breakfast, Maybe on your next trip to Monroe you will be able to stay a little longer and enjoy some of our amenities. Thank you again for your comments and we hope to do better fo ryou next time.

The staff were all wonderful, Cheryl at the front desk and the ladies who do the breakfast were so nice! The breakfast was the best I have ever had in a hotel. These things made up for our dated room and slightly dirty bathroom. There was cob webs all over the window and the bath tub hasn't been cleaned by someone who cares in along time. Pool looked nice, didn't use it because it was so full.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on our hotel. I will let Cheryl and the breakfast girls know of your comments. They all work very hard to make every stay as pleasant as possible. We will be looking into the shower situation. Thank you for informing us of the issue. Thank you again for your comments and we look forward to serving you again.

This is by no means a 5 star hotel, BUT, this is Monroe, MI so if you are looking for luxury, head to Detroit or Toledo. We stayed for 6 nights. Everything was great from check in to check out. Kristin and Nick were awesome. The lady bartender (sorry, cant remember her name) was very helpful. Rooms were clean, and seemed remodeled. Breakfast was good, nice variety. Pool was small, but area and pool were clean. Only downsides were, there was a storm and a lightning strike took out the direct tv and wifi. took 2 days to get TV and 3 days to get wifi. Happened on Friday, couldn't get repairs until Monday so what do you do?? Price point was good. Hotel was quiet. Beds were comfortable. Had a roll away bed the whole stay without and extra charge like you see at some hotels.Highly recommend.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel this past weekend. I went on the weekend trip without making any reservations and after a few stops I pulled in to the hotel. The place was well kept, the pool and hot tub were relaxing and the breakfast in the morning was well maintained. The only problem I had was with a cell phone signal in the room.

We were satisfied with this hotel. While the room updates seemed half done; the beds were nice and the room was very clean. We had a sport group in the hotel and accommodated nicely Breakfast was pleantiful with good choices. This hotel has a nice lounge area for hanging out and quite a large and clean pool. Also the excercise area offered quality machines in quantity. The pricing was fair for the market.
