“Best Western Valley Plaza Inn”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

No frills place but it provides a clean, quiet room at an affordable price. The interior courtyard garden area is very nice and well maintained. The pool table was fun to use but had poor quality cues (missing, loose tips, scratched surfaces). Did not use pool but looked nice and clean. Easy access on/off freeway but quiet enough not to hear the hum of traffic.

Hotel is a bit dated in many ways. Could use some updates for sure. Go every year for a business convention. Friendly staff. Courteous to the clubs. Thanks for another enjoyable year. Camping in the back. Super great place next door for food & fun. Looks great for next time we stay.

This hotel was clean, comfortable and the menu wasn't bad either.

Best Western is Best Western, very average, but not bad either. Our stay was just an overnighter and we were pleased with the service and accommodation.

This place needs everything. Staff was fine thou. Rooms are dated and A/C did not work well at all. Breakfast was a joke. Wall thin and you hear your neighbors along with the party going on in the parking lot till 3am.

Hotel charges a lot for little more than a basic room. sir charge for microwave, and fridge. Breakfast, nothing more than rolls, coffee, and juice. And look out for a unwanted wakeup call at seven in the morning

We have been visiting this hotel for mini 2-3 day getaways since our oldest daughter was about 3 years old.she is now 19 years old. We love the convenient quiet location Away from it all but still close to downtown midland and DOW Gardens. There is a bowling alley in the same parking lot with an arcade, lazer tag, bumper cars and putt-putt. They used to have a wonderful little dollar theatre in the parking lot as well but it closed in December 2013. We were sad to see that go. Breakfast is always plentiful and good. The buffets at the convention center for Easter and Thanksgiving are amazing. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. Occasionally you will get a lot of wild traffic in the hallway if a kids sports team is booked there but they generally wind down by 10 pm. Most of the time we feel like we have the place almost to ourselves especially for midweek stays. Service is always very friendly and helpful. The pool is clean. The hot tub is nice but at our last stay had some issues with shutting off and staying off for twenty minutes before the jets could be turned back on. Very comfortable clean rooms. Inside rooms have a sliding glass door to the courtyard. We like the rooms that face the parking lot as it makes loading/unloading the car super easy through the sliding door. Overall a great place to stay. One negative thing noted on our last stay this month. Someone was cooking in one of the rooms by our room. Maybe the owners live in the executive suite or have a kitchen there for guest use. Whoever it was, they were cooking some very strong smelling Indian food and the smell filled the hallway. Im sure anyone who loves Indian food would enjoy the smell but our family doesn't eat it. We found it he smell to be very over-powering and unpleasant.

The hotel was very nice over all we could not open the glass door other than that it was awesome there. the cable went out but that was because of a storm. I also think that they should have adult time for the swimming pool we went to go get into the hot tub as it was full of kids at 10 pm.
