“Lots of character.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

The pub is below the Ramsdell Hotel. The clientel was most definately locals. Thirtyish to 50ish. Sushi was there Friday entre, A very cozy setting with low ceilings and old stone floor. Very well maintained. The food was very good. Slightly smallish portions. The staff was friendly and very accomodating. A hot spot to be in the summer for sure.

“A fun little part of an amazing hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

We were looking for someplace new to eat in Manistee on our way back home from a Christmas trip to the Traverse City area and stumbled upon TJ's. We'll be back. It's a one-of-a-kind location, in the daylight basement of the incredibly gorgeous Ramsdell Inn, and while the food wasn't spectacular, it was satisfying. The Porter's Prime beef soup is highly recommended, as is the Greek salad served as a wrap. The Germania sandwich is also quite good. Wanted to try the meatballs, served both as an appetizer/small plate or as part of the (snicker) 'Snooki' sandwich, but I was afraid they'd be frozen, not homemade. Good beer selection, lots of local stuff.

We are so glad you were pleased with your experience. The soups, salad dressings, spinach dip, and meatballs are all made here! We are particularly proud of our Michigan offerings. Every attempt is made to incorporate ingredients and products from our immediate area.

“A favorite place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

We love TJs! The atmosphere makes the place FEEL like a real discovery; the tasty fare makes you KNOW it's one. It is pub food (but without the yucky greasy aspect a lot of pubs have). Out favorites are the BBQ Chicken Pizza and the bruschetta!

“Quiet bar, nice for a change.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

When I arrived at TJ's, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn't too small, and had enough light (for being mostly underground. It was also nice that during lunch hour, it was still quiet enough that we could have a business meeting right at a table in the middle of the floor. I had the quesadilla, and it was so delicious. The sour cream mixture that they give you has a hint of heat, along with the coolness of the sour cream, and it was delish! Our service could have been a little bit better, but I do understand that it was lunch hour and they were busy.
