From looking at the property, it appears that one section of the hotel is older and one is more modern. Of course we stayed in the older section, bottom floor. We joked that the room was kind of like being in a funeral home, it did not feel light and airy at all. Being that we were on the bottom floor, by the parking lot, we didn't keep the curtains open, so with a dark carpeting, and dark furniture, it felt cluttered, not cozy. There is a large floor to ceiling dresser which is just way too massive for the room. The TV was a nice, large LG flatscreen. Our family always does a customary bug check (thanks to the neurosis of my daughter), and we were pleased to see nothing lingering on the mattresses. But boy, when we pulled the mattress a slight bit away from the wall, there were huge dust bunnies and cobwebs under the bed, yuck. We stayed there 2 nights and after the sheets were changed the second day, I did see a dead, small bug on the sheets. I guess those things really are everywhere. The shower and bath were fine. Needing to charge items, we saw that the plugs in the room were not in convenient positions and wouldn't even hold the plug in. Minor gripe. Our last hotel had a nice charging station located on the nightstand between the 2 beds.
Free breakfast. It is food, and you pretty much get what you paid for. It runs from 7-10 and we got there early on both days and it wasn't a hassle to get food or get a seat. I was a little disappointed to see all the plastic and styrofoam that was used. Styrofoam plates, bowls and cups and plastic forks and knives. I suppose that is great for the staff, but what a waste and creates so much trash. The food is nothing special. Very basic, but it saves you money.
Never saw their private beach or pool. Takes about 20 minutes to walk downtown and there are a handful of restaurants. The ferry associated with the hotel is the farthest one away, and takes 20-25 mins to walk to. I think it was a little pricey for what you get, but the prices seem all the same there, so you are pretty much forced to pay it.
Ask for the newer building.
