This fun little grill is tucked behind the Island House Hotel, not visible from the street, so you either have to know it's here or be alert to the sandwich-board sign at the street. It's a steep climb up the hill next to the hotel to reach the restaurant, or you can (with some guidance) find your way there through the hotel lobby, up a flight of stairs, and across a second-story outdoor bridge.
Tile floors, shade-filtered light through the windows and pastel colors make the place feel cool and island-y.
It's small with a bar that seats maybe six or eight and a handful of tables for four. They also offer outdoor seating on the lawn behind the grill at tables with umbrellas, but we've always opted to eat inside.
Service is swift and cheerful from the college-age wait staff. The lunch menu is simple, mostly sandwiches and big salads. Everything comes out of the small prep area next to the bar. The food is fresh, well-prepared and with decent portions.
I've had their burgers, grilled tuna sandwich, and a couple of their meal-sized salads, all more than satisfactory. Drinks include lemonade, iced tea, sodas, coffee, beer and full bar service.
A better-than-average place for lunch on the island, and usually quieter and less crowded than the places on the main drag.
