Playing the Jewel at the Grand Hotel was a great experience even though the course was quite wet from heavy rain and it was ridiculously cold the day we played. The front nine is located next to the Grand and offers spectacular views and a fairly challenging course with plenty of opportunities to get yourself in trouble if you don't hit a straight ball. Greens are small and were slow; not sure if that was normal or because of the wet weather. After the first nine we took a carriage ride to the back nine which is back by the airport. The holes are longer here and the views are still great. It is easy to get lost between the 10th and the 11th hole so watch for the signs. After the back nine we were able to look around the Woods Restaurant and bowl on their antique single lane. A final carriage ride returned us to the Grand. We were able to have our clubs delivered directly to the Grand pro shop, even though we weren't staying there. They also sent out clubs back to the ferry dock for us. It was very convenient and we had a great time despite the bad weather.
