“You Will Think You Are In New England”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

We live near this restaurant, so it is an easy place to walk to. Being 5 miles west of downtown Holland some might be hesitant to make the drive, but I can assure you it will be well worth it. First of all the drive down South Shore Drive will take you past some of Holland's more spectacular residences. The Piper is nestled in a large marina with all tables having something of a view of Lake Macatawa and the Lake Michigan sand dunes within a mile to the west. The menu changes with some regularity so you will always find something new to try and love. The chef has been here for a very long time (not the usual in the restaurant business) and is renowned for his cooking. The owner, herself, is well known in the Holland area for her gourmet cooking. Happy hour is from 5 to 6, and after 8. You get an adult beverage for less along with a couple small slices of pizza - a very fun concept! The food is very good along with being accurately prepared and with good presentation. Their fish is especially good. And the kitchen honors requests for dietary alterations. We dine here regularly and are never disappointed!

“Okay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

We had reservations. We earned an okay table. Other tables, perhaps not reserved, were better. The service was a little slow. The food was okay. We won't go back.

“Beautiful view, and great service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

My husband and I went here for Valentine's day. It was the perfect setting for a leisurely dinner. They have a great wine selection, and the menu has a nice variety. I had a pizza with sausage, onion and blue cheese which was SO good... and their desserts are worth saving room for.

“Gorgeous view and outstanding food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

This restaurant has the best view in Holland and the food lives up to the setting. Lots of wonderful fish and unusual preparations. Many other types of food as well, including great pizza. Great place for a special night out or just drinks.

“The Piper pipes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

It doesn't matter if you want a great view, a great dinner or great service, you will find it here. Patty, the owner, is almost always there making sure that service measures up to her high standards. The meals change often, but use local veggies in season, wonderful combinations of tastes, and fine presentation. We eat there often and have never been disappointed. Be sure to walk around the building and enjoy the gardens!
