“Luxury in Lansing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

My cousin got married and had the recpetion at the hotel. The Lexington Lansing is a beautiful hotel with an exceptional staff that took care of everything. While the exterior of the hotel does beckon back to the late 60's/early 70's, the interior cound not be more tasteful. I really liked the light fixtures and the two giant paintings in the hotel's lobby. The two glass-backed elevators give you a nice view of the two paintings as well as the centerpiece fixture. The room I shared with my Dad and sister had two comfortable queen-sized beds. The television was a first for a hotel I've stayed in: high definition, although it is one of the older HD TVs. The room featured a hidden minifridge, which I found out right before checkout. The pool is rather small, but also features a hot tub and 24-hour access. There is also a partial basketball court. The banquet room holds a large group of people. The lobby also features a well-stocked bar with a handfull of beers on tap. It is one of the more swankier hotels I've stayed at. While it's out of my own personal price range, it's well worth staying while visiting Michigan's state capital or attending a Michigan State Spartans football game.

This hotel was originally recommended to us by some friends who live in Lansing, as we were going to visit them. Since that time, my 9 year old son has asked several times if we can go back to that hotel. It has a beautiful atrium lobby with a glass elevator, an in door glassed in basketball court (was a big hit) a nice size pool. We have now stayed at Lexington 4 times and it still remains to be one of my sons favorite places to go. There are many resteraunts and stores, including laser tag, and glow putt putt golf with an arcade very close to the hotel. The hotel and rooms have always been very clean and comfortable and an added perk is the delivery of cookies and milk to your door every night.

We have stayed at the Lexington on 3 different occasions as a "park and fly" before and after our vacation flights. This is a very nice hotel with an atrium lobby and water fountain. Just off
the lobby behind the fountain is a small bar which serves very good bar food and cocktails.
Don't know what kind of drink you want? They have a wonderful bartender who will make you something special based on your tastes, just ask. The restaurant reminds one of a Tuscan villa, very relaxing with great ambiance! The food is a very good..., but like any hotel a little pricey. The staff welcome you with warmth and professionalism and seem genuine when tending to any questions or concerns you may have. The room decor and bathrooms could use an upgrade, that is true...,however they are clean, well kept and do have very comfortable beds. The cart that comes around every evening with "milk and cookies" is a great extra touch, which just reaffirms this property's commitment to customer comfort and service.

There is an airport shuttle for your flight, and the "park and fly" rate is an extremely good value. The hotel location is an easy on/off the highway..., and if want to cruise the Lansing Mall it is just down the road a mile or so. (Houligan's Restaurant is also in this mall, GREAT
food). The Lexington is simply a very nice place to stay....for a great price!

Room Tip: Have stayed in 6 different rooms during our travels...haven't had any issues with room locations...

This was my first expierence staying at a Lexington Hotel and I have to say that my expeirence was pretty good in many aspects. The Lexington is known for their night time door to door delivery of milk and cookies so if you are in your room when they make their rounds enjoy the warm cookies. The hotel has a nice dining room and each morning I had the breakfast buffet which was pretty good. The restuarant staff was friendly so it made for a nice breakfast. The room was a little dated in regards to the doors and the refigerator but overall nice room that was clean and well kept every day of my stay. The only bad expierence I had was getting an iron that worked! I actually never did get a working iron and after three attempts I just gave up. If you stay you should enjoy the expierence and the price is also pretty good for the location.

Room Tip: When booking a room ask for the 4th or 5th floors you will like the privacy and if on the fith floor...

There's slim pickings in Lansing for full service hotels, but this is one of the better ones. The decor its old, the rooms dated, the a/c noisy, as is the fridge, bathroom is tiny, and the cost cuttings are notable. That's the bad.

On the flip side, rates can be reasonable, the nighttime cookies and milk door service a nice touch, the staff are really friendly, a convenience gift shop a rarity, and it is well stocked

I ate at the bar most nights, which is quite exposed and can get child. Avoid eating here unless you are addicted to salt.

We nwere here for a TaeKwonDo tournament. Had an excellent stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. My daughter loved the cookie cart that stopped by our room around bed time. the bed was large and comfortable. Breakfast was great. Price was probably just right. Go....stay....you'll like it!

I would recommend this hotel. It isn't cheap but it isn't expensive. Rooms are what you would expect. Staff isn't as good as most northern Michigan hotels but you aren't in Northern michigan. Slept good and the location is fair.
