On December 3rd the city of Lansing, Michigan began it's first Dicken's Festival in the Old Town section of the city (Turner Road & Grand River Road). The retail stores and restaurants all participated with special sales and free cookies and hot chocolate.
Throughout the Old Town you would see Dicken's characters in full costumes of the day, carolers from Michigan State University, free horse and carriage rides, and various theatre type performances. There was plenty of activities from oldsters and youngsters alike.
I hopre they continue this festival year after year. It's a nice way to spend a few hours to help get you in the holiday spirit.
