My family and I ate at Mangia Mangia tonight and we will not be back. The empty restaurant should have been a clue. It started out OK, with a nice Bruschetta appetizer, but went downhill from there. First, the wine we ordered was out of stock, so we had to choose something else. The server had no idea what to recommend (she was nice, but really not well trained). We finally picked something else, and lucked into a good bottle of wine. Next, we ordered dinner, which was supposed to come with bread, which apparently had not been cooked yet "hopefully, you'll get bread with your dinner" was the quote from our server. We got the bread shortly after the main dishes arrived--it was average. When dinner finally arrived, both the chicken dishes were overcooked with tough dry chicken smothered in a gross, overly sweet marinara sauce. The manicotti my daughter ordered was smothered in the same sauce and the pasta was filled with grainy, tasteless ricotta cheese. None of the dishes were edible--the leftovers were NOT taken home. When the server asked, "How was everything?," we said that honestly the chicken was overcooked, dry and basically inedible. She said she was sorry and went away. In any other restaurant, we would have had a concerned visit from management--we got no such visit. In fact, the server came back and asked us if we had saved room for a delicious, ooey-gooey dessert, apparently completely oblivious of the fact that we had told her we were highly unsatisfied. We paid over $100 for the worst restaurant meal we've had in a long time. We will not return, nor will we recommend the restaurant to our friends. Overall, a terrible experience.
