Description: Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant Opened Memorial Day Weekend of 2006 The property has a rich history on the lake. Past businesses include property Occupying the year aggregate dock and storage area, a coal dock and marine construction and dredging has company. The building WAS designed to harken back to historic boat building factories lined the shores That of Lake Macatawa with Exposed beams and brick. The bar top WAS created to mimic the decks of hand-crafted wooden boats made by the likes of Chris Craft with light wood inlays betweens darker mahogany boards. The walls are lined with historic photos of the Lake Macatawa, Lake Michigan and Holland Areas. The restaurant continued to evolve and add features That Enhance the guest experience. In 2008, the outdoor patio bar WAS Added to create a comfortable outdoor lounge area. The next year saw the addition of glass walls along the boardwalk to create true waterfront tables right on the edge of the seawall. The next major change cam in 2012 with the full remodel of the indoor dining room and lounge. The Areas Were swapped to create a better dining experience for our guests with Additional windows Added to the North wall and elevated seating area year to Ensure great lake views for Every guest in the dining room. We Know That with growth, change must come aussi. Constantly we are looking for avenues and ideas to make Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant The Most Sought After dining experience on the lakeshore.

“happy hour on the water”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2014

One of the greatest locations in town for happy hour drinks. Great atmosphere, can't beat the setting in the summer. Sit in the bar area at the right time and they have got some great happy hour specials. A wide selection of drinks and a decent variety on the food menu. A "summer must" for me and my spouse.

“Lunch”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2014

My partner and I had an impromptu lunch here after driving by and wanting to dine on the water. The service was good and the food was good. However the amount of food you get for the dollar is overrated! And the water view is not that great anyway.

“nice attempt poor execution”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2014

It looks nice: on the water, big place and handsome patrons. However the wait staff was disorganized, m-i-a and overwhelmed. The shrimp tacos and flank steak were beautifully described but came out very under cooked and greasy. The waitress nor any other staff came by for 10 minutes so sending them back was not happening. Another couple left while waiting to be served and the other couple next to us had their order messed up as well. Two cocktails and two entrees were $70 and not at all worth it. Very disappointing.

“Wow, they raised their prices”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2014

Lucky for this restaurant it is on the lake with a great view. Other than that, it is just average. Now that they raised their prices pretty significantly, it is a higher priced restaurant with average food and a good view.

“The outdoor space werks!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2014

We eat at Boatwerks regularly, but it is especially appealing in the summer, when outdoor tables allow for a pleasing view of Lake Macatawa. The food is just fine and has even improved in diversity over the past couple of years, and the service is good with reasonable prices, but the real reason to come is the views of the water. I agree with the critique of the perch sandwich -- not enough fish -- and the coleslaw is too sweet, lacking the nice tang one expects. So have something else ( the salads are gigantic and there are other good sandwiches). A great starter is the grilled octopus. Even people who have trepidation about sea creatures with suction cups will love the texture and flavor.
