We spent the day riding our bicycles from Mackinaw City to Harbor Springs and a passing cyclist recommended we get a pizza here and take it to the harbor to eat at sunset. In theory that was a good idea, in practice, it's near impossible when the service is so slow.
Having been riding all day and stopping at the beach, we were thirsty, hungry and tired. We waited nearly 15 minutes to get an order in. Once we ordered, it was more than 30 minutes before our order was put in the oven because they were so busy (not an exaggeration as there was a soccer game on the tv at the bar that was more than 30 minutes into the game and we got their before player intros and the national anthem). The place had cleared out before our order went in the oven, so the kitchen was focusing on carryouts and deliveries before the hungry family of 3 seated at the bar in the main room. It's bad when a carryout guy places an order after you, comes back later for his order and wishes you luck on getting your own at some point. In the meantime, we sat at the counter trying to entertain a 2 year old and struggled to get refills.
I overheard a comment from one server to another. They knew they were behind on us and in the end, we still walked out with a full price bill and ended up having to ride bikes in the dark to get to our hotel for the night. All around rotten feeling of neglect for a $40+ bill for 2 adults and a toddler and mediocre pizza.
