“We will be back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2014

My wife and I went to Grand Rapids to attend a convention. We stayed at the JW Marriott. It was a delightful experience from beginning to end. The valet warmly welcomed us and I took our luggage to our room (we had preregistered). The room was exceptionally clean and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable. I enjoyed the pool. We had a fabulous dinner at the restaurant 616 in the hotel. It was participating in Restaurant Week so we had the prix fixe menu. Our server Jeffrey was exceptional, a wonderful representative to the hotel. Breakfast at 616 was equally as good. I highly recommend this hotel and we will be back.

We stayed at the JW on our wedding night. The front desk staff couldn't offer an upgrade, but offered us complimentary access to the concierge level (food and drinks). It was a very nice gesture.

Our room overlooked the river and part of the museum, it was very nice. We loved the floor to ceiling windows, and the room overall was updated and nice. The room and bathroom were well stocked with amenities, and we found them helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay, it was a nice room with a good view and comfortable bed!

Room Tip: A high floor room would be best because of the lobby music, which can be kind of loud. We heard it i...

We stayed here while rowing in the US Rowing Nationals. The staff was helpful, the rooms comfortable and well appointed with very comfortable beds and linens, and the location convenient.
The restaurant has a magnificent breakfast.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely dinner overlooking the river, clean room, super helpful staff-a perfect night's rest. We had to attend a family function in town and wanted to just relax for a day and this hotel fit the bill perfectly.

JW Marriott hotels offer all the extras. The hotel is well kept and has a nice lobby area that had tables and booth seating that are used by the restaurant but guests can also use it to lounge in the lobby. The bed are comfortable and the bedding is plus. Many hotels only offer this blankets but this place offer a plush comforter. The bathroom has a separate tub and glass shower. A coffee maker and mini-fridge is included in the room.
The only difficulty I encountered is that because this is a JW Marriott, some business travelers are pushy since they expect to be catered to first and the staff at the front desk is too friendly to ask them to wait their turn.

Room Tip: The hotel is along the Grand River so some of the rooms offer a view of the river.

In my business (renewable energy) I've (by necessity, not choice) become a connoisseur of cheap motels in tiny towns. This was quite the change. Wow. Bell staff, front desk, room service, room amenities, decor, housekeeping, all just right so I felt pampered but not imposed upon. Sure beats the usual. The bathroom was astounding....a deep tub and a separate shower, big painting over the tub....geez. Great location downtown, right on the river for morning exercise on the riverwalk, great restaurants and shops and brewpubs all within walking distance....I'll be back.

This hotel was very upscale and should be considered elite. I really enjoyed my presence at the JW Marriott. Every Guest Service Agent at the front desk had a bright smile and a can do attitude. No problem was too big or small for them. The restaurant was prime, I couldn't fathom paying $18.00 for a breakfast buffet until after I ate there. Each item on the buffet was amazing. The valet was an standard nightly price of $29.00, which is much better than the prices in some larger cities like Nashville and Chicago. This hotel spoke business, boomers, and bachelorettes.

Room Tip: The more charges you add to your room rate, the more points you'll rack up to come back the next...

Dear Zach,

I am so glad that you were able to enjoy our wonderful breakfast buffet at six.one.six. Elvis' omelets are my favorite! Thank you so much for your note about our staff. We truly are fortunate to have such dedicated staff members. We hope to see you again soon.
