“Incredible philanthropy; immortality in art and garden”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2014

The Meijer Family donated this incredible attraction to the people of Grand Rapids and Michigan and -lets face it - the world. See it in good weather so you can take your time wandering the grounds, enjoying the art and gardens. There are inside attractions, too, but you really appreciate the scope of it by wandering outside. Modern and classical, large and small, there is something for everyone and every age. I particularly like the huge horse.... and the touching sculpture of the Meijers themselves, sitting on a bench, enjoying their creation. It took a a long time to get around to visiting and we wish we'd gone earlier. Keep trying to get back.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

Toured Meijer Gardens and I have to say, this is really a world class facility. The gardens are designed in a wonderfully flowing pattern. A lot of thought went in to how the gardens are laid out. There are basically several large ovals with several offshoots within each oval. Waterfalls, sculptures, a Michigan farmhouse all add to the enjoyment.

Do not miss the large horse sculpture.

“Absolutely beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

We had a party here and the place was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and the gardens were so pretty. Take the tram ride. The driver gives you a lot of history and insight into the sculptures.

“World Class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2014

What a world class attraction at a small town price. Thank you to the Meijer family for creating this attraction for west Michigan. The sculpture park is great with the Japanese garden opening next year. There also is a children's area that is great for the little one's. The concert series is a must do summer event with something for all styles of music lovers. If you want to see a popular artist you must become a member in order to get tickets because they will sell out in the member presale.

“Artistic Overload”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

I love Fred Meijer and make the trip with my kids several times a year. There are things see and do inside and out! From the gallery and garden rooms inside, to the many sculptures, wonderful Children's Garden and floral exhibits outside, there is never a shortage of things to see and do for people of all ages.

The tropical butterfly exhibit in the spring is a must do. It runs from March 1st-April 30th yearly. It is amazing to be in the Conservatory and have hundreds and hundreds of butterflies flitting all around you. It is magic.

In the summer, they have a concert series that performs in the beautiful outdoor amphitheater. Each concert gives off a very intimate feel and the beautiful flowers and wonderful sculptures surround to give a wonderful atmosphere.

Winter at Fred Meijer offers it's own special brand of magic. We always come to see the differently decorated Christmas trees. Last year, there were close to 50, I believe, inside decorated in a number of different countries. This is a great way to introduce culture to kids! Outside they have horse drawn carriage rides, activities for the kids including viewing reindeer and listening to carolers. With the twinkling Christmas lights glistening on the snow...it is a lovely place to enjoy the peace of this season.

This is a photographers paradise! Whether it is butterflies, flowers, or the sculptures there is never a shortage on things to capture. Through the year, they have classes for people of all ages in a variety of different categories: painting, writing poetry, photography and summer classes for kids.

If you have a yearly membership, the classes, activities and concerts are discounted. Also, special viewing times for exhibits are exclusively available.

This facility is very easy to maneuver, no matter the level of your mobility.
