“Excellent food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

We had a great meal. The good was creative and delicious. We did 5 courses (squeezed in a cheese course) and the portions were reasonable that we weren't over-stuffed. Great wine pairings, too.

“Great spot for a delicious dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

Based on Trip Advisors #1 rating we decided to try The Grove. It was a great choice. Our party of three all chose The Grove special of three courses for $33. We tried 9 different selections in total and there were no disappointments. The cream soup made from Sweet Potato and Onion was a standout. The pork done two ways was succulent and perfectly cooked. The desserts were delicious. The only annoyance was that we ordered three appetizers to share. Only one showed up. When we questioned the waitress she told us we had only ordered one appetizer. When we got home and checked our bill we had been charged for all three appetizers, so check you bill carefully. Dinner for three was just over $200.

“Best restaurant in Grand Rapids... possibly all of Michigan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

With frequent travel to Grand Rapids for work, I'm always looking for good dining options... Grove goes way beyond good to overall excellent.
The restaurant is located in a quasi-residential area about 1 mile from downtown - also on the same street is Brewery Vivant and a smaller microbrew pub. There is plenty of parking nearby. The area is surrounded by older, well-kept houses and makes for an overall nice atmosphere.
The restaurant is smaller in size - with approx. 6 tables located outside in the front of the restaurant. In warm weather the outside tables are a nice option but note they abut the sidewalk.
The most impressive part of Grove is the FOOD. This restaurant is farm to table with many local ingredients available. The menu allows for a 3 course option ($33) or ala carte. I did the 3 course which was just the right amount of food. Everything from the tuna 2-way appetizer to the steak entree was superb. For dessert the salted caramel fudge was one of the best desserts I've ever had.
Grove has a good wine list with several of my favorites. Note this is not a true wine bar so the list is not expansive - that being said there was a nice selection available.
I've found my favorite restaurant in Grand Rapids and highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal.
