I stayed here one night on business. Usually I find airport hotels to be way below average but this one exceeded my expectations. It is an older hotel but the beds were comfortable and updated and the furniture in my room seemed new. The bathroom was a little rough though. It was a very small bathroom, so small that when I opened the door, it almost hit the toilet. The shower fixtures did not match and the sink base was scruffy and broken. Despite that, I still had an pleasant experience at the hotel. The staff was professional and the hotel restaurant was very good. My one complaint is that there is no executive lounge or floor but that is very typical of airport Hiltons. I will stay here again the next time I am in Grand Rapids.

I have to admit that I am wary of airport Hiltons. Thankfully this was perfect. The rooms are spacious, the beds are great, and the air conditioning works. I was presenting at a conference, and needed lots of work space, and more importantly, easy internet access. I had both, and everything was a breeze. When I had a question about the business center, the front desk took care of me and my printer needs. This is always a blessing.

A side note. . .a wedding reception was in full force while I was there. The staff helped the unfortunate bride who was stuck in a rainstorm, chatted with the bridal party to ease tensions, gave the little ones granola bars instead of candy, and that left me with a good feeling as well.

The take away? Great all around.

I stayed with my infant daughter on a recent trip to visit family. I stayed in a recently renovated room that had several nice upgrades (nice bedding, granite counters, etc.). Some of the renovations looked a little "shoe-horned" in, but they were trying, anyway! Staff was very friendly, I had plenty of hot water each day, and the bar staff was superb. Room service was good (on time and food was hot). Only complaint I had was that the "crib" they brought me was a playard (which I expected), but it was very cheap and the mattress on it was so thin that the bars on the bottom could be felt through it. I ended up bringing baby to bed with me (she was only 3 months old at the time) so it worked out ok, but parents of older infants and toddlers might be unhappy when they get this crib (it was brand new, btw). The location is very convenient to I-96 (just a few miles from downtown GR) and the airport. Movie theaters, major restaurant chains, and many big box stores are abundant within the immediate area. The Spinnaker restaurant is famous in GR as "the place to go" for special occasions such as an anniversary, prom, Mother's Day, Thanksgiving, etc.

My husband and I visited our adult son in March 2007 who lives in Grand Rapids. We previously stayed at the Amway downtown but decided it was too expensive. This motel was perfect even though we had to drive 15 miles to his apartment. We liked all the choices on places to eat right on the same road as the motel. It was easy to find and bookstores nearby to browse in. Rooms were clean with thick towels. Only negative aspect was the TV---it was too dark to see well and we couldn't adjust the brightness. I called the front desk and asked for
another TV but they said they had nothing in reserve. My sports nut husband wanted to watch the NCAA finals which he did on a dark TV screen!! All staff was friendly and helpful. Maids did a good job cleaning. The bed had a new mattress and pillows I could tell.
Nothing bad and we will stay here again.
