“Staff let this place down”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

The last stop on our tour around Nambia and unfortunately a big disappointment. While the rooms were good, well kept and clean the staff service and food quality was pretty poor. The staff were just going through the motions, they had no interest whatsoever in their guests. They seemd bored, never welcomed you first, mostly ignored us. A typical example was at meal times, a grunt or a nod at the door with single phrase communication throughout the meal. Drink, Sign here, may I, enjoy, buffet is over there...all delivered with bored looks and rudeness. Drinks were never cold, always served warm, sorry but warm Savannah Dry is not good. The food was buffet style (yawn), they promote "gourmet food", not good, more club style. Steamed veg, chips, Oryx steak (overcooked and unseasoned), dry prawns, soggy squid. Breakfast was good though. Give this place a miss, there are much better places around. On the other hand we did do a sunset and sunrise game drive with Benny and Jeremiah and have to say they were fantastic. Very knowledgeable, approachable and answered all of our dumb tourist questions with a smile. They took the time to search and look for the animals that the tour wanted to see. The visit to the San people though is a bit wierd, seemed staged. The village they show you is not where they San people actually live, though the trip is informative. They do promote as free and ask for gratuity which we left in a basket in the middle of the small village. What annoyed us was that the driver from the lodge collected the money and put it in his back pocket saying that this will go to some account and the San people can buy things later. Didnt seem right to let us see that. If thats the way it happens then keep it to yourself Erindi Lodge. We hope the San people actually see the colour of that money. We do believe that Erindi Private Game reserve needs more high end accommodation, the reserve itself is wonderful, shame about the service.

Don t get me wrong.. Great place for animals.. The whole Africa is around.. Nice location.. But then, without animals, erindi is an industry.. Poor service, average quality, and at the end of your trip, really expensive.. For animal lovers with an appropriate wallet..

During the 2 years my family and I recently lived in Namibia, we were fortunate enough to visit Erindi several times, and it became our favourite place to visit. The food is varied and enjoyable with plenty of choices, with the viewing platform over the waterhole being a fantastic spot to spend an afternoon. The rooms are clean and very comfortable, with big and well appointed bedrooms, and our favourite spot was the verandah to view the approaching game. But Erindi is all about viewing the wildlife. Each time we visited Erindi we enjoyed different experiences, each wonderful in their own right, including lion, rhino, leopard, elephant, cheetah, giraffe, the many antelope, hippo, too many to detail all. . The game wardens are all knowledgeable, with some fabulous experts amongst them. The other facet that we love about Erindi is their commitment to wildlife conservation, which we were fortunate to see progress through our visits. We will miss Erindi, and will return in the future.

Erindi is a home far away from home... This is a place to come and enjoy luxury and peace with with only the sound hippo's and birds....
The rooms are well equipped with airconditioner for the hot Namibia Somer days and a small bar fridge well stocked to use..
The bathroom are verly large and comfortable with a big bath and shower...
In the restuarant you are treated with the best cakes and tart tea time which is followed by the best dinner buffet with more than you can choose options. This you can enjoy while overlooking the big waterhole visited by a varaity of animals which include Rhino and Elephants...
You are treated like royalty when you arrive at Erindi.....

This is one stop not to be missed when visiting Namibia.....

Room Tip: Try to book from room 20 to 30. They have a lovely view over the waterhole all night long and the an...

Erindi had been our last stop whilst travelling through namibia and we were tired - best to end a tour there, the rooms (though pricey but worth it) are huge (we had booked the deluxe version), beds were utmost comfortable, a private terrace nearby the fenced water-hole (lions at night, al kind of bokkies in the morning), bathrooms up to day and clean.
The food, well, there is a good choice of everything but mostly overcooked ... costs of extra drinkas are absolutely fine.
the safaris are well organized, even if the lodge is fully booked, compliments!
you can book your private safari at an extra charge, which is recommendable, the ranger will ask you about your wishes and really tries to fulfil as best as possible....
best is the the vast terrace with a view over another bigger waterhole with the hippos of the lodge and a flock of marabu`s.if you dont feel like joining a safari, order a gin and tonic , grab your binoculares , choose a couch and stay there on the terrace!

Room Tip: depends on the amount you want to spend - try to get one at the waterhole.

We stayed at Erindi Lodge for 3 days on one of their specials and enjoyed every minute of it. Food was excellent, rooms were super comfortable and Game viewing was first class. This is an expensive Lodge, but one gets 3 meals (one can split breakfast in to a pre-game-drive and post-game-drive meal. One also gets a lavish afternoon tea/ coffee and cake. Only improvement would be fresh coffee/ espresso instead of filter coffee that stands for a long time

Room Tip: All rooms are very good, I think

A family hollidays where everyone has enjoyed the few days in Erindi.
The rooms are very good. At night we can see all sorts pf animals at the water holes near by the rooms. Even rhinos.
The restaurant is consistent considering the great number of peolple eating at a time. Nice food. nice staff. The big water hole a side with fantastic movement at night. Elephants, hippos , rhinos...
Game drives were fantastic. The rangers , all of them, were ready to pleas the visitors trying by every means to reach places were perhaps this or that animal could be found.
We'll be back to visit Erindi again.
