“Not my favorite Hampton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2012

I love Hampton Inns. And, given a choice, that's where I always stay. Usually, there are beyond excellent- this motel was good, the staff were nice and friendly- the rooms were ok- a few cleanliness issues- a stained towel, etc... No fridge or microwave, breakfast was fine- but once again not as good as other Hamptons- the iron in my room was terrible and left a stain on my skirt- they did not have a replacement We were here 4 nights and overall the experience was good- but just not as good as I'd come to expect from a Hampton

No amount of cleaning can cover that this place has seen serious wear. Most of the furniture is scratched up, the fixtures old, and sound comes right through the doors from the hall. Staff is polite and efficient. With the next couple of Hamptons up the road closed, this is the only one for miles. OK for one night, wouldn't recommend for longer.

We took our sons and their families to this hotel at vacation time. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The pool was clean; the children spent a lot of time there. Breakfast was good - a different meat selection each day, cold and hot cereals, waffle maker. The 24 hour coffee was a nice touch. There is a Bob Evans restaurant next door and Ruby Tuesday across the street. We will definitely consider staying here again.

I spent one night in this hotel. The staff were helpful...the breakfast was good. All in all it was OK for a one night stay.

We stayed here while traveling from Lower MI to the UP. Excellent customer service, great rooms, comfortable beds and Bob Evans right next door. Walk in rate $99. Also near strip mall and Wal-mart, right off of I-75.

The staff at this hotel is great. The pool area is the best in town, although the common jacuzzi is too hot. The common breakfast area has been updated and it looks great. We booked a jacuzzi suite and this room has not been updated in some time. For me, this is the only negative. We have booked non-jacuzzi rooms here before and those have all been updated. This is our place to stay when visiting relatives in Gaylord. It is also good for business travelers.

Room Tip: The jacuzzi rooms are outdated.

I stay at this hotel about three times a year and prefer this hotel to others in the area. The staff is always very accommodating and the breakfast filling. The rooms could use updating but I've always gotten a clean room with a very comfortable bed. I enjoy using the pool and the jacuzzi. The location is very convenient. I will stay here again in March and look forward to the terrific service I receive.
