“Best (Winter) Trip Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013 via mobile

Just returned from a great weekend in the snow. Less that 1/2 hour to Boyne and then spent the next day riding the trails. Loads of excellent snow and our condo and resort service was great as usual.

The large indoor pool and sauna were really appreciated on this trip. Special thanks to Steve and both Kevin's.

The new owner is an energetic young man that is focused on providing great service and value. He is surrounded by excellent staff, especially Ranger Lynn. This is the place you can join now and benefit from as the owner pours his heart and soul into the operation for years to come. Michigan is fortunate to have this little jewel and the good folks who run it.

I hope they will continue to keep it simple and focus on providing a squeaky clean, safe, and comfortable resort.

We enjoyed an amazing day of snowmobiling for 6 adults and two kids. Full service rental on site!

Our family comes up here at least once per year and we were pleasantly surprised to see all the new improvements at the Resort. Looks like they are spending some serious money for family-friendly upgrades like an Internet Cafe, a completely updated Activities Center and a new on-site pizza delivery service.

We always stay in the same condo, because we like it's location and this one has a ground floor Master Bedroom and stone fireplace. It is unit 2475, but there are other nice condos to rent if this one is booked. We even rented a small one-bedroom unit last winter and it was nice and clean.

There have been times in the recent past that the resort amenities looked a little worse for wear, but our Color Trip this Fall (2012) was a very pleasant surprise.

This is not like staying at the Marriott. However, if you desire a great up north experience with your family or friends, this is an excellent option. We love coming here.

Cant say enough about this great place. Stayed there in the summer and winter. Staff was great, lots of fun. kids wanted to stay longer. Cant wait to take the jeep up and do some trail riding. Dave, Steve and the gang could not do enough for us.

Our family group of 8 (6 adults, 2 children) spent 4 nights in one of the large cabins at Beaver Creek Resort August 11-15, 2012. We were in 2462 Kelsey L. This unit has two bedrooms (one with a double bed, the other with two double beds) and one bath with shower/tub on the main level and a loft with three double beds, a bathroom with shower, a small sofa, and a balcony. Two of the beds are quite close together but separate from the third bed. The living area was very comfortable with two sofas. The table in the eating area seated 6. There was a porch at the back of the unit and a balcony at the front.

The kitchen was well-equipped and we ate all of our meals in. The unit has a nice Weber charcoal grill; but we opted for renting ($10 per day) a propane gas grill from the resort. Each cabin (at least the ones in our area) has a fire pit, so we were able to have a campfire and s’mores (a hit with the kids). Wood was available at the resort store ($5 a bundle and we had 2 fires with it).

The resort amenities were nice and the grounds were excellent for walking and enjoying the Michigan woods. The playground was a hit with our little ones (aged 4 and 7). The indoor pool is large and very nice. The outdoor pool appears to be just for the water slide. Our two girls were too young to go on it, but the other kids (and adults) were enjoying it immensely. The miniature golf course was not well kept up, but the kids enjoyed playing it.

The resort staff was very helpful. Every time we called, they quickly had a response for us (including bringing extra spoons and delivering our firewood so that we didn't have to carry it back).

Wi-fi was available in the resort office.

Room Tip: We like 2462 Kelsey L as it was near the end of the road and had less traffic.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

We were given a gift certificate purchased by our son's godparents for a 4 night stay at Beaver Creek so we weren't looking to become members. Nevertheless, we had to endure a 45 minute tour and 30 min. sales pitch. While the campground was quiet, the sites had problems with the power. (Several campers had electrical board problems the first night we were there, one reportedly filled with smoke!) The shower and toilet stalls were kept pretty clean, however the common areas in the bathroom were filthy. The garbage dumpster was overflowing and reeked! The kids really enjoyed the giant water slide but it was not always opened at the scheduled times, we had to ask personnel to open it for us and it was not very well monitored. The putt-putt course was a bonus but is in desperate need of repairs. The on-site lake for fishing was much smaller than advertised and was stocked with itty-bitty fish. My husband and I both feel that this "resort" has a lot of potential but wonder if it'll actually pan out. Not interested in returning in the near future...

This is our fourth year of enjoying Beaver Creek! During this time they have made many improvements. There is still more to be done, but they are working on it. The place is family friendly. The pool is awesome and the water slide is a blast. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Love the place. Our family has many great memories which include Beaver Creek and we hope to have many more!
