“taste of strudel lives on”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

The Bavarian Inn is huge and stately in a way. Within it is lots of shopping - specialty shops and a terrific bakery, and a good German restaurant, with all the German foods. Germans love vegetables for appetizers, and at the Bavarian Inn, they come in a variety of salad mixtures: red cabbage, a kind of coleslaw, cucumbers, radishes, potato salad, some pasta salad, etc. I could make a meal just out of the apps. There were 5 of us, and we mostly ordered the chicken as an entrée. The food is served family style when more than one person orders the same meal, and seconds are always available.

The main dining room is huge, and can probably accommodate about 300 people or more. The décor is simple yet elegant, and the servers, dressed in Bavarian costume are pleasant and attentive….and very busy! They do hustle.

For dessert, my mouth was watering for some tasty strudel, and I was not disappointed. The crust is flakey rather than gummy and the apples still a bit firm rather than mushy.

The restaurant is a place to celebrate…a family fun place, with the noise level high enough to cover your conversations and jokes at the table, but not loud enough to be annoying. The Bavarian Inn is a must when you’re in Frankenmuth! Guten Appetit!

“Good German meal, but expensive for dinner.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

Almost had heart attack when I saw the prices on the dinner menu for my family of four that doesn't eat a lot of food. Server suggested the lunch menu (they serve from lunch menu all day, but you have to ask), portions were perfect and prices much better ($10 range, rather than $25). Chicken and saurbraten were very good and the cheese potato puffs were fantastic. Two vegetarians in group ordered off the veggie menu and were happy with their choices as well. Atmosphere was nice, but some German music would have made it even better!

“Perhaps my favorite restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

I've been coming here for years and I can truly say that the food and service never disappoints! My family and I have been here at least 6 times over the last year and the meal never gets old. Great chicken, love the butter noodles and stollen bread. Frankenmuth is my little paradise away from home!

“YUM!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

This place is so good it's worth the almost 6 hour drive just for dinner! I can't get enough and it has become our Thanksgiving location for almost 5 years now!!

Waitstaff is super friendly and the wait is never long with and without a reservation.

“Birthday dinner with freinds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

Met friends for one of their birthdays on Sun., 7/7/13. Everything was tasty, service was a bit slow, our server was breaking in another=we had more time to visit:) You don't have to get the Chicken dinners they are famous for-which are tasty. Menu options for all tastes, good Ruben, except bottom was a tad soggy. Friends daughter got chicken strips & fries, she helped her Dad with his birthday cake & ice cream. Another fun get together.
