“Great attraction - but early closing hours”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

The family spent the night during the Bavarian festival. The hotel staff was great helpful, and friendly. The rooms were nice with comfortable beds. We really liked the idea that there was a fridge and microwave in the room. There were only 2 negative issue that we had. First being that we were in Frankenmuth during the festival we were gone most of the day and didn't get back to the room until 8 pm. Our girls really wanted to go the the Splash park, but by the time we got to the room and changed they only had about an hour 1/2 to use the park that night since it all closed at 10pm. Speaking of closing at 10, at about 9:40 several of the lifeguards started closing down their areas. At around 9:45 / 9:50 most of the areas were closed and the lifeguards were all gathering in one area impatiently waiting to completely close the water slides. I even heard one of the say they wanted to close early because they had a party to get to. The second issue was with breakfast. We had the eat and stay package, which by the way is the way to go to save a bunch of money. When we were seated for breakfast we had no idea what to do. We didn't know if it was a buffet or we had to order off the menu. It was all a bit confusing. Overall it was a great MUCH needed weekend getaway.

Hello, thank you for sharing your perspectives on our facility. We do close our big slides 15 minutes before the park closes, however, I do appreciate your insight on our park and will keep your suggestion in mind for future discussions and planning. We are glad you and your family had a great time and we really appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you again in the near future. Thanks again!

Sincerely,

The eat and sleep package was amazing and well worth it! We got two dinners, two breakfast buffets and two game room vouchers that were out of this world with our vouchers...our stay was 179/night and the dinners, breakfasts and game room vouchers well worth over 100 dollars, our stay was more than paid for...it was a great family vacation!

Room Tip: double twin with a balcony view was the best!

We spent one night here (used a friends & family coupon for 30% off - I got it by signing up for their emails). Our 5 year old son had a blast at the waterpark. I would say the waterpark is perfect for 3 to 8 year olds. The 2 newer, bigger slides are for bigger kids and adults but I can see the bigger kids getting bored after a while. I saw older kids hanging out in the pool that had the basketball nets in it. Nice zero entry pool for babies & toddlers. It was clean and there was lots of space to enjoy. As we were checking out, 140 middle school students were entering the waterpark on a end of the year field trip.

Our room was very nice & clean. We ate breakfast at the breakfast buffet on site. It was $9.95 for adults and $3.95 for our son. We also had a 30% off coupon for this. It was an excellent breakfast with tons of stuff to choose from. I'm sure we would have ate there even if we didn't have the coupon.

The hotel offers a free shuttle bus to town that will drop you off and pick you up in Zehnder's resturant parking lot.

Be sure that after dark you hop in your car & take a cruise around Bronner's parking lot (attached to the hotel parking lot). The light display & music is amazing.

We will go back again!

The hotel itself is nice but the fact that it shares the same entrance with the waterpark makes it seem like less of a getaway. Thankfully we had a suite on the back half by the tower pool and never bothered to even use the waterpark. We went in but it was filthy and crowded with food and towels everywhere. It was also packed beyond capacity but that's because anyone can use it and not just hotel guests; its open to the general public which is a mistake. We turned around and went back to the tower pool.

We also heard they are going to expand the waterpark and possibly take out the tower pool which would be a colossal mistake since they use it for swimming lessons as well. It could be used as an adults only pool for certain hours. Kids were jumping in and out of the spa/hot tub part too which made us mad. People under 17 shouldn't use any hot tub because its bad for them.

The hotel is clean and staff was nice but its the little things that are never monitored that need attention. People left the doors propped open with towels to let non-guests in all the time. We paid good money for the room and hated that people who weren't even staying there got in for free due to lack of any hotel supervision. People left food and drink all over and towels were all over. I picked them up myself.

There is no continental breakfast. You have to order it from the hotel or go somewhere else.

Too many slamming doors.

Wait until the Holiday Inn downtown is finished and stay there or stay out by the highway.

Room Tip: If you're gonna stay, request a room back by the tower pool away from all the hooplah!

My husband and were going to go for one night, wanted to go to waterpark, but ended up staying two nights (long story). there is a separate pool and courtyard that most people do not worry about. all and all even with the kids, it was very relaxing and I cannot say anything bad, would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: we stayed in dragonfly balcony, was very nice to sit out there at night, we got to see the christmas...

Took our 3 yr old to stay and play! Had a great time she could go down tube slide with us and she loved the bucket that dumped water. Staff was very nice and hotel was very clean. The waterpark has alot to do for all ages. I liked that there was alot for little kids! Our 3 yr old didn't want to leave we all had alot of fun. Definitely will stay again!

It was our first time there and I can say that the staff was great. My kids had fun in the water park but after we stayed 15 minutes there, we went to the pools because it was quiet. My kids were terrified and did not want to enter in the pool of water park when they saw an Indian lady enter in the pool with her clothes and not a bathing suit. I think that's not very clean for little kids who love swimming. I think the hotel should have a policy concerning this issue. Another thing I did not like was the noise of some boys playing with a ball until 12:00 am in the hallway. Except for these two issues, I think everything else was great. The hotel was clean and the lady on the front desk was really nice and polite of doing a reservation for my family of 4 at Zehnder's Restaurant. Great place to go.
